We stayed at campsite 97. It was very private with big and tall rock formations right behind us (had fun climbing and exploring our area). There was a picnic table, fire ring, and a grill. The only downside, although minor, was the slight incline. Nothing crazy for us, but others may not like. Very cold crisp air, beautiful star gazing, furry friends. It was perfect.

We reserved sites 97 and 99. Theyre next to each other but not right next to each other like some sites. Sites were clear and clean. Restrooms were clean. Good access to short hikes for kids.

We loved the campsite at Jumbo Rocks. There is so much space between spots so it is quiet and secluded. The campground is kept up very nicely.

Exceptional spot. My vacation really started after waking up the next morning in that astonishing surrounding.

Such a great campground and both nights were spot on! That said you wouldn’t go far wrong With any of the campgrounds in the park. All of these areas are in an amazing setting. Specifically Jumbo Rocks has some great pitches and not so great. There are also some which will fit a 21ft campervan into although the site says no. We played by the rules. Fantastic site to either sit outside and enjoy the sunrise either on your pitch or a short hike to the top of one of the jumbo rocks ?????? … then there’s the sunset. Crack open a tinny, sit back and enjoy the show. ??

Jumbo Rocks was one of our favorite campgrounds on our recent trip. The sites are large and private, and although there were not hook-ups, it was wonderful!! We’ll be back!!

Campsite was spacious for two tents, surrounding noise was minimal and is very centrally located to other attractions. All Jumbo rocks campsites are walking distance from skull rock which is one of many great places to visit within the park.

We Love Jumbo Rocks. We had to go down to Palm Desert one day and it was hot down there but not at Jumbo Rocks. At least 10 degree difference and not nearly as windy either. Its the highest elevation campground in Joshua Tree and is the nicest one for sure. Just avoid during the summer for obvious reasons.

Site 97 is somewhat private on the outer edge of Jumbo Rocks. Great views from the hill behind; can walk into the dessert away from all other people. Lots of wild life to enjoy. Camp facilities are well maintained. I will be camping here at a different campsite starting tomorrow for 4 nights. Looking forward to another relaxing & inspiring visit.
