My favorite thing about Jumbo Rocks is that your campsite is in such a beautiful spot you dont need to drive anywhere to see a sunrise or sunset, just take a short walk and you are all alone .

JTree is now overrun and this camp ground is horrible. I have been going to the park since I was a kid and all the internet kooks have killed the vibe and serenity. Too crowded, too loud..Sad!

Gorgeous rock formations throughout the campground. Pit toilet was well stocked. Camp host volunteer was going around picking up moop (matter out of place) and was super friendly with good tips on what to see in the area

Our stay was very nice. The location close to the hikes we wanted to do was perfect. The sites are clean, toilets are exceptionally clean for pit toilets. The only thing that would make it excellent in the rating would be showers. But I understand that it would be difficult to install them in the park.

We had a fantastic visit! We pulled in late (after sunset), star gazed at both Skull Rock and our campsite, and got up at sunrise to capture some of the most beautiful pictures! Be sure to visit the Ocotillos and Cholla Cactus Garden!! Definitely a unique park...

Must do a sunrise at the Cactus garden, 49 palms oasis hike, Indian Cove hiking, and rangers program.

Amazing campground! Easy to navigate, plenty of bathrooms. We came in during the night so when we woke up and were able to see the views we were simply amazed. Good size and privacy too.

Jumbo Rocks was beautiful! We arrived a little late and it was a bit more difficult to find our spot, I would recommend arriving in daylight and stopping at front of campground to see the map and details as you pull in! The night stars and daytime views were spectacular!

I love this park and this campground, one star of because of some noisy campers near by and no camp host around to deal with it.

We had an excellent trip to Joshua Tree staying at Jumbo Rocks in a beautiful camp site. Great short hike sunset to Skull Rock. Even though 90 degrees, very comfortable until early afternoon and the evenings were prefect.

Simply loved it. While it doesn't have some amenities, like potable water, it's in a great location. Nearby are many of the parks trails; you won't be looking for a hike. For that matter, you can just wake up and start walking/climbing - who needs a trail? Campground was very clean. Our site (96) was great, though it's hard to go wrong. Just make sure to find a site to accommodate your tent and vehicle.

Highly recommend. Looking forward to visiting Jumbo Rocks again very soon.

The campsites are clean and lavatories are well maintained. Hiking trails everywhere. A true oasis in the that area of the state....not to be missed

Great campground. Pit toilets, and bring your water. Trash was a bit overflowed. Gorgeous sunsets minus some drone buzzing noises.
