After staying at the Cottonwood Campground the first 2 nights, we stayed here on the 3rd night in spot 95. Absolute best spot with our 19ft sprinter van. Felt like we had the place to ourself. Very nice campground. We would choose this one again.

Pros: Jumbo rocks campground was perfect to explore nearby attractions and the campground was spacious in terms of the table/grill being far from the paved parking spot so ample room for a tent. Cons: For site 095 specifically, it is located right next to the bathroom which may be a pro to some but a con to us. Numerous of individuals, adults and children, were too lazy to walk an extra 20 feet around our campsite and instead cut through multiple times a day and even throughout the night making it impossible to sleep in our rooftop tent. Additionally, at this site you can hear people's conversations late at night, not just your immediate neighbor, but like 5+ camp sites away word for word.

The campsite looked great at first but once we parked and got out of the car, the peacefulness of the Joshua Tree desert landscape was broken by a loud diesel generator that the campers in the next campsite were running and then the waft of diesel smoke hit us and we nearly gagged. The noise and the smell were relentless and went on for hours. We tried to tell the neighboring camper we were dying with the smoke and noise but he just casually said he'd be running it for another hour or so. We had to hike over the hill to get away from it and couldn't set up camp or cook or anything. They finally turned it off but at 7:00 am the next morning someone else started a generator up and ran it for hours. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The beautiful Joshua landscape was ruined by these generator people. I couldn't believe the park rangers did nothing about it. Generators should not be allowed in campsites. If I wanted to hear motors and smell gas all day long I'd camp in the middle of the city. Very disappointing.

Great spot in Jumbo campground, #95. Off the main road, very quiet and private, and surrounded by boulders. Lots of hiking nearby.

Very scenic campground with beautiful rock formations typical of Joshua Tree NP. Probably the best campground in the park.

The wildlife that lives in the campground was very impressive. The sites are spread out enough and the vegetation was dense enough to provide cover for these birds to feel comfortable walking through your campsite. Plus, the vault toilets were clean and didn't smell.

Surprised at the large space allocated. Site was clean. Did not see any staff, but had everything I needed. Visitor Center was closed down. Did eventually find a new Center. The thunder and lightning storm was amazing.

Great Location and a lot to do right there. WE are planning to continue returning each year. Bathrooms well kept, garbage was cleaned up and overall park was trash free and clean. Parking can be tight in some spots so make sure to know the areas.

Jumbo Rocks is the most amazing place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree. I love that you can hike straight from your campsite into the desert and see some great sights and do great hikes. The rocks are a brilliant backdrop for your stay and the night sky and sunrise moments here are precious.

Sometimes I could smell the restroom nearby dependingthe direction of the wind, this was the only problem.
Other than that the spot is great! Btw, fits a 25ft rv without any problem.
