So far my favorite spot in Joshua Tree, privacy, not too far from bathroom but also not too close perfect size for my group, and a perfect spot for stargazing

Great place between the large boulder rock formations. Spacious and private sites.

late arrival might miss the guidance on board. Could leave some map and information guide under the board also for late arrivals

No rangers or camp hosts on site. There was no where to leave an fee (even though we prepaid. What about people who are walk ins?

Most unusual campsite, blended in with Jumbo Rocks. Loved it! Perfect sites for beautiful sunsets. Clean park, well maintained - wonderful experience.

So quiet there! Loved the big rocks and some of the campsites are secluded. Nice hiking within the park, easy access to the trails. Not much for services there and the pit toilets really smelled foul. Recommend tent or very small RV only. Parking is limited.

Beautiful campground with lots of rocks and joshua trees. It was a very windy night that we stayed and this particular site was not shielded from the wind very much. Couldn't keep fire going and tent was very loud from the wind at night. Some of the site is on a hill, so there was really only one place to put the tent. Great place to see the sunrise and close walk to vault toilets. Also plenty of space for our vehicle!

Great stay in this campground which was centrally located to hiking. Beautiful place. Loved the layout of campground around all the rocks. Vault toilets were clean.

One of the most beautiful campsites we ever visited. Great views of the rocks, quick walk to Skull Rock. Listen to the yips of coyotes at night. Only thing that could make it better would be water and a dump station.

Great RV camp site. 24' Class C with driver side slide out fit just fine. Camp area felt very secluded with bushes and hillside. Only complaint is the tent sites across the road were a bit noisy at night. Convenient to Skull Rock trail and amphitheater is just over the hill, though nothing was scheduled during our midweek stay. Dry camping, filled with water at Park Admin offices off Utah Trail coming in and dumped at Blackrock Campground going out. Kids loved it and didn't want to leave.

This is a beautiful campground. Sites are spread out enough so you’re not looking into others campsite. Peaceful!

It was a really nice experience! Can recommend it to anyone. We saw a wild coyote at our campsite. Only the toilets were a bit dirty, but we had our own, so that was no problem.

Beautiful but tight to get in and out. Busy. Tiny spots so absolutely make sure you fit before you enter. A once and never again campground for us. Will definitely go back to JT but not stay in Jumbo just way too closed in for us. Slideouts hanging over the road, branches big trimmed. Sites much smaller than they have to be. If they trimmed a few branches, moved a few small placed rocks so you can get off the road and into the spots it would help. No host to speak of. Non campers coming into the campground unchecked to park and hike.

Jumbo Rocks is located in such a way that we were able to take day trips and hikes and enjoy the park all the more. I'd never been to Joshua Tree, so the whole thing was a wonderland of newness for me; it was the best 5 days I've spent in months. All along the trails there are signs with pertinent educational information about the plants and animals. Climbing the rocks was a thrill and one night we went to the ampitheather for a great presentation about the stars. All in all, the experiences we had were tremendous. I hated to leave.

Many (most) Jumbo Rock campsites are right on the road (loop autos take all day and much of the night). I was SUPER grateful for the photos that helped avoid the worst of that. For example, I thought Site #1 would be perfect because it's right by the entrance. But the photos showed that it's also a very narrow site, inches from the road where cars go in and out 24/7! Site 94 had a bit of brush between us and the road and that made a HUGE difference.

The only good thing is the location. Crowded, and RV sites are parallel parkings along the road.

Jumbo Rocks was a very nice campground.

space # 94 was private and in the fall when temperatures are down, the sunny spot was nice. Then we had to move to site #2 as #94 was not available, #2 is very unprivate though nicely shaded in the afternoon. It would work best if you knew the people in #1. The hosts said that #1 would not be rented except in an emergency, but someone showed up in the middle of the night and so they needed it. Sound really carried in the entire campground and though it was quite on our first day the second was more noisy, just depends upon your neighbors. No water and pit toilets so bring your own water. Bathrooms were clean.

The campsite was right across from skull trail, the restroom and trash can. Good size for 2 over size tents or 3 small tents
