Jumbo Rocks Campground is an absolute gem! We enjoyed a several night stay in early April in our small RV in space #92, and it was wonderful. This space is a bit tight for RVs, but it has wonderful spots for tents, which are protected from the wind. The view of the walls of interlocking trapezoidal jumbo rocks is a sight to behold over your morning coffee. The entire campground is inviting, the layout is long and stretched out through the boulder fields, not with camp spaces all jammed together. Plan for the weather and ENJOY!

This was the best campground we have ever stayed at! There are many sites nestled among an enormous huge boulder field - what a delight. We also really enjoyed the enormous variety of plant life in the park and the many hiking opportunities. We would very much like to return.

We stayed in site 92, a great spot! Bathrooms/trash were close by. Perfect spot for our tent, the site had easy rocks to climb up to get a lovely view of sunrise/sunset. Overall great experience per usual at Jumbo Rocks!!

My first time in joshua tree and this was such a great spot. Past reviews made me nervous saying not being able to pitch a tent but there was room on the sides to pitch one. Our stakes went in easily. This spot could fit 2 large tents and a small one. We used a 7 person tent and a 2 person tent for this trip. Parking was good enough for a truck and Nissan rogue! No shade, bring canopies. Bathrooms right across the road, so convenient. Cool rocks all over and you can climb them and get good views of everything. Near lots of cool trails! Ultimately a great spot and would love to book it again in the future!

The location has phenomenal views of the surrounding terrain, as well as viewing the Milky Way. Everyone camping out were so friendly, it was a pleasure having a quick chat with folks passing by our site.

While the park was beautiful, and the checkin process easy, there was no level spot at our campsite to pitch a tent.

Amazing campground, lots to do without driving anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet and respectful other campers were - we truly felt like we were the only ones out there. I will definitely stay here again (as long as we can secure a site!).

Jumbo Rocks campground is a beautiful site, nestled amongst the rocks. Very peaceful. We highly recommend the Keys Ranch tour. A very interesting historical site.

Great place beautiful we will come back. We noticed a few missing pet signs. Near sunset we had a coyote check our campsite out, would be nice to have some signs to warning pet owners of the risk to small pets.

Beautiful location that was pretty quiet despite its popularity. The facilities were well managed. Note that it's more of a tent campground. For those sites that are wide spots in the road, even if your RV fits, there may or may not be space for slideouts or awning to be extended.

I loved our camp site among the large rocks. The biggest drawback was that there were no camp hosts (atleast none that I saw). This makes the experience a mixed bag dependent on who is camping near you.I spent 2 nights at Jumbo Rocks and the first night was amazing. Mostly quiet--at night there were some kids playing and screaming for a bit, but that is expected and was no bother. Once they went to bed around 10pm it was quiet. The next night was awful. The people camping beside us that evening were terrible. Currently, CA has a fire ban, which was being observed by all the other sites around us. But our neighbors had a campfire, got really drunk, and were SO loud. I was woken up at 1 am by a huge argument amongst their group. Some guy was crying, a woman was yelling, and then one of them was in a vehicle and started honking the car horn---repeatedly. At one point they just laid on the horn for at least 30 seconds. Finally half of the group departed, leaving 2 guys who proceeded to keep drinking and burning items around their camp. I swear they were yelling and drunk sobbing at each other until 3 am. Several people yelled for them to shut up. No luck. They ended up sleeping in their car? The next morning they started another campfire and burned a bunch of trash??? Our sites were directly across the street from a recycling/trash area?I've never had an experience like this and I wish there would have been camp hosts to resolve the situation. That second night was the worst camping experience of my life.

Bathrooms were not so clean and wish there was water available in the campground. Sites are great, being amongst the boulders was awesome, site had plenty of space and didn’t feel like we were on top of our neighbors. Campground host was very friendly and accommodating.
