I stayed in #89 it was perfect! It rained all day for 2 days and my tent did not flood. Its kind of nestled in there too so it blocks some of the winds. I would absolutely stay here again. Close walk to the toilet as well.

Good site overall, great proximity to the rocks. Generally enough privacy, but since it's close to a good entrance to the rocks, people walk through the top of you camp.

Great location, close to everything . Our site was close to the bathroom. Sites very tightly packed, very close to each other. Also felt like every site had more than 10 people occupying! Lot of pedestrian and car traffic during the day.

Jumbo Rocks is a great campground. Centrally located in the park. Great rock formations to climb on. Clean restrooms. Sturdy tables. Shade is the main factor. The 'long shadows' from the rocks (in the morning and evening times) is what you should consider when selecting a site. Ours was good on both, and privacy from the road and our neighboring site was great! Campsite 89.

I usually stay at Hidden Valley Campground which is also beautiful but first come first serve. This campsite it BEAUTIFUL. Bathrooms are clean and the roads are paved in case that is a concern. I would absolutely come back

This was tough to rate. Scenery and geology: 5. Privacy and peacefulness: 2. Insects: 1. Stunning campground but the spaces are close together and there were a lot of big and loud RVs. My site specifically, its gorgeous but Id only recommend it for tent camping as its right on a choke point of the main road. Id also say only choose this one if your group has site 88, too. Lastly the bees. Oof. Im not afraid of bees and no one got stung but they are FOR REAL.

For such a large campground, it was clean, relatively quiet, every site seemed to have a great view and the trails that started in the campground were great!

Came with 3 kids, who lived climbing the boulders. We were next to the Skull rock trail.

Spot 89 was great! There is a large parking pad that is parallel to the campsite, which accommodated our truck and 23 foot trailer with extra space to spare. You have plenty of privacy from your neighbor in spot 88, and there are 2-3 areas that you could pitch a medium/large tent. This spot backs up directly to some of the jumbo rock formations which were great for amateur climbing.

Beautiful campground with amazing views. Loved the large boulders! Multiple sites nearby to explore. We were disappointed that Geology Road did not have any markers with written descriptions or trail guides. But overall we have a wonderful time.

Absolutely unreal. So beautiful and in the middle of the park. I almost didn't drive back to stay but then decided to and boy was I happy not only for the amazing safe and private feeling campground, but the amazing sunrise I got to chase all around there. The giant rocks made you really feel like you were staying in Joshua Tree. My favorite campground to date and I'm an avid camper.

Although we're not a fan of street-pull-in campsites, the park has done a fabulous job of preserving the rock formations to fit campsites. Very clean and well maintained. Amazing how many campgrounds are in the park. We'll go again and stay longer.

Beautiful spot. Easy access to the hiking and climbing we were here to do.

Great site, private yet open at the same time. Wind advisory wrecked havoc with trying to sleep in the tent at night but overall lovely spot.

Nice place. In summer good for a single night. During day is not so much to do. Next hike spots are not in walking distance except the Skull Rock. Perfect for a BBQ and some stargazing (on top of the Jumbo Rocks!).

This was really a great experience after sunset. A sky full of stars. Just lay down at the jumbo rocks and relax. Spot 89 was a great spot.

Very cool campsite next to cool boulder formations. It was near some trails which was really nice.
