Well maintained sites, and camp hosts, rangers and volunteers were all great and helpful.

This campground was so much fun. It was like a playground with all the rocks to climb and explore.

There are several nice hikes, of varying lengths and difficulty, right from the campground.

Site 88 is great. It offers privacy while being close to Skull Rock Nature Trail.

Campground was great and the site had some shade from a nearby bush in the evening (if you want more shade go on the other side of the road). Unfortunately the site next to us was very load and disruptive keeping us up all night

Jumbo rocks was a great place to stay. There were very fun rocks to explore and hike in all directions. We even heard a coyote very close to camp one night.

Great campground but beware that many of the sites have limited space. Site #88 is right along the road with boulders along the roadside. This orientation would not work for our trailer and RTT. We could not determine this from the site description nor pictures. Perhaps a rookie mistake on our part but we ended up camping in the Belle campground.

Amazing, magical, all the stuff! The only bad thing is the other campers, but that cant be helped. Toilets were clean, better than I expected for pit toilets.

What a gem... Need I say more? Ok, must say, haven't used the bathrooms, because we had our own RV, but the place is just stunning. No reception, but everything is wel signaled and the walk to Skull Head is nice to do from the campground. And then.... the hidden valley, wowwwwwww!! Joshua tree was the big surprise of our roadtrip. Thank you Recreation.gov!

Very cool scenery! Make sure to put your kitchen sponges away or a little rodent will take it at night!

What an amazing location and natural wonder and beauty!! We would highly recommend this place!! only a little remark that our reserved tent site was occupied and gave us trouble to find another place to stay during the night. And the campground is also reachable for Rv's, which I found a it disturbing at times when they put on generator. Jumbo Rocks is one of the only places on earth where real silence is to be heard!! And I would propose to kee it like that !!

We loved Jumbo Rocks although to be honest we liked Ryan a little better -- Jumbo Rocks is so big and there were a lot of people around, so it didn't feel as remote as Ryan. However, as the name implies, there are SO MANY ROCKS to climb around on, which our 9 year old totally loved. He was scampering around morning to night. And the campground itself was clean and well maintained.

Fun campground to explore! Parking for the skull rock trail is near by, but the park limits access to the campground to people with reservations which keeps the traffic down. It was calm and quiet despite being so close to a big attraction!

Very much enjoyed our 3 night camper van trip to Joshua Tree and Jumbo Rocks Campground. We had site 88 and it was perfect for us. Good privacy from neighboring sites on either side( although they were close) and no campsite across. Just jumbo rock in front and behind. Parking pad was level for our 19ft Sprinter. Nice tent pads , grill table and separate fire ring. Skull Rock loop from campground was really one of our nicest hikes especially towards evening when crowd thins at Skull Rock itself. The other must do hike is the split rock loop ( we recommend the clockwise direction). We noticed several signs saying parking lot full at several popular hikes, including Split Rock, but found that not to be the case when we were there ( end of January, early in the week) plus people are constantly coming and going and the lot full signs are not constantly monitored it seems. It was cold day and night, especially at night which dampened our enthusiasm for the amazing stargazing. Almost no cell service in the park.

A wonderful place with very unique scenery. We love Jumbo Rocks campground. Our children love exploring and climbing rocks. The sites are beautiful and provide nice privacy. The bathrooms are in excellent shape. Weve camped here twice and will be back!

This campground is beautiful - lots of rocks and starry night skies. Vault toilets were clean and plentiful. There is no running water in the campground so come prepared for that.
