Will absolutely be back to this campground. Though the sites were all booked online but most sites were not occupied, making it a calm and quiet night. Clean and spacious site, parking for our truck and trailer worked out wonderful at this site! No cell service for Verizon, until you get back into the town 25 min drive away.

Beautiful campground, rocks all around the campsites. We had a large site and lots of room and possibilites to climb the rocks for sunset and sunrise.Vault toilets nearest to our site were closed during our stay and a strong odor as well as flies were coming from them.

It's a really nice site to camp. Loved it !

The site is great and protected. Be aware the site is one part of a three part camping area so when you see the pic with multiple vehicles on the website and think it is all yours, it isnt. Sites 85, 86 and 87 all share the same pullout. We fit our 33 Class A and a jeep - barely, so when they say it is 42 long believe it. Really a great site - would stay there again.

We had a fantastic time at Jumbo Rocks! The hiking was wonderful, and many trails are close by. The rangers were kind and very helpful.

my experience at jumbo was very good, although I received a strange phone call from a 'ranger' in the middle of the trip about my campsite allegedly being abandoned (087) since no-one had been seen there all day. I explained that I rose early to drive back to the city in order to administer a final exam (I am a Professor). The campsite was not abandoned. I actually left a tent set up and a stove and other things on the picnic table. I was asked, "Do you plan on returning to enjoy your last night there"? To which I responded, "Of course." Since when do you have to be present all day long at your campsite? I could have been hiking, climbing, or a whole host of things. This is the first time I've been in JT that this has happened (I've been going here for over 50 years).

This campsite was so perfect for our Joshua Tree overnight. It was very secluded and private. It had a little pathway that led up to the rocks and we climbed up on top of the huge rock formations all around to watch the sunset. We could hear the coyotes howl and saw amazing shooting stars and the Milky Way once the sun went down.

We didnt get a chance to camp. The site was too small for our trailer. Measurements are trailer plus vehicle. There were a number of others that had to leave the park for the same issue. So we paid for the spot as well park admission to be there for 45 minutes. Place looked amazing and would have loved to stay and enjoy the park.

Nice campground. Very clean, and my site was spacious. The parking was a little bit of a walk, but I should have paid attention to that in the description. People were quiet at night.

The Jumbo Rocks Campground was beautiful...Rocks were fun to climb on... Sunrises and Sunsets were dramatic ! Stars were visible and plentiful.Campsight was very clean!Only complaint was the noisy profane campers near us.... and the their midnight traffic a few feet from our RV window.

Camp ground needs a host/ ranger to control unneeded traffic from day users. Also to control poor behavior from campers. Campground was very clean and pleasant, with great views. Quiet at night as well.

Loved this campground! Every campsite has their own little space behind in which you can go exploring for hours, no need to go far from the site to enjoy, explore the rocks, or have great views! If you did want to hike or go to nearby points of interest, the campground is well-centered. Just a few minutes from Ryan Mountain, Keys View, etc. Make sure to have enough water, food, firewood, and layers!

This campground is very busy in the fall. Considering the fact that every site is booked every day, it was tidy. Garbage day is Wednesday (loud trucks picking up dumpsters!) Pit toilets routinely cleaned. Some trash in site, but just due to build up from so much use. Worst problem is the usual--inconsiderate, loud weirdos pulling in at all hours of the night,or fighting. Some campsites are buffered better than others. Fair amount of greenery between sites. See Lost Palm Oasis trail at Cottonwood entrance, or Willow Hole off the Boy Scout trailhead. White Tank is a cool short walk.
