Always great to go to JT and any national park for that matter. Site 87 was solid for our 4 man tent. Could have fit another. Site 86 would be better for a larger group but still a great location. Ranger interaction was minimal but pleasant. Clean restrooms and plenty of them. Love jumbo rocks campground.

It's a crowded site, but that was not unexpected. The scenery is majestic, and camping ethics were generally respectful, except for the hyper guy wearing a triple headlight next door who looked our way every 30 seconds for hours. I'd have thought it was an incoming train if I didn't know better. That's the only blot on a magical night set for stargazing by a simmering campfire. The local coyote chorus was pure music until well after dusk.

Great location, several trails close by nested in the Jumbo rocks, and a short walk to Skull Rock. Campground has amble vault toilets and seems most all campsite have a concrete table, fire ring and grill.

Wonderful stay at Jumbo Rocks Campground. Friendly staff and fellow campers. Owls, coyotes and small furry friends. Really fun hiking and sightseeing. Well be back :)

Jumbo Rocks is a beautiful area of Joshua tree National park. There are some nice trails and plenty of Jumbo Rocks to climb, with plenty of photo opportunities. The only thing I have issue with is that the park was nearly sold out when I made the reservation, but actually only had about 10 campsites occupied the whole time I was there. There are over 100 campsites! I would have chosen a different one instead of I had the opportunity. Do be aware that you check into the campsite at the gate to the park, not at the campground itself. Joshua tree National Park is the size of Rhode Island. No services!

We love Jumbo Rocks campground - it's such a fun place to be and the kids love exploring. The site is always clean, rangers/volunteers helpful, and fellow campers friendly. This was our 4th trip and we can't wait to go back!

While in a beautiful setting, there is no water and campsites have limited privacy for parking your van.

Very very nice, fantastic and beautiful. Look the stars at night and everytime the animals. The rocks are breathtaking. The campground have everthing you need. Table, barbecue, toilets, trash.

This site is at the heart of Joshua Tree Natonal Park, and the Jumbo Rocks was at the background of our campsite!

We RV all over the country and Jumbo Rocks is my favorite campground. It's like a giant playground.

Site 114 is very small and has no level spot for a tent.

The site was perfect. I had great hikes. Perhaps clean the vault toilet more frequently?
@WilliamT271 · Camped on May 2, 2021 at Campsite #86
Beautiful Park and unique campground. Many campsites are very tight and parking space on side of road.
