This is a very beautiful campground. It is surrounded by jumbo rocks, hence the name.

Coming to Joshua tree since the mid 70s Ive pretty much covered the whole park and have narrowed down the areas Id like to meander the most one of them is jumbo rock Campground, and the area north of it and south of it but now Ive been told that I can only spend 14 nights in Joshua tree. This will be hard for me as I usually stay 30 nights total over several trips.

We really love it. We had site 82 and whole boulder rocks for ourselves. Quiet (except for noisy neighbors) and perfect star gazing location. Really love it and will highly recommend to anyone who are looking for campsite in Joshua Tree National Park.

The best part is that you are in the park. It is not recommended for bigger RVs for good reason. It is dry camping, so make sure you have everything you need, and you will have a great time.

This was one of the coolest camp sites I've ever stayed in. I was clean and nice and absolutely amazing climb up to the top of a 'Jumbo' rock to watch the sun set and stars come out!

Stayed at site #82. Big, open site with large boulders and tocks. Only bummer was someone went around stealing things on Saturday night. Ice chest, chair, even though the chair was tucked up against our trailer and the ice chest was tied to an a tarp rope. They cut the rope, then ditched the ice chest bevause it was heavy. Never found the chair. The ice chest belonged to our neighbors. Other than that, it was beautiful even with a little rain and wind.

Well maintained campsite. Suggestions: better signage for spots, mostly for those arriving at night. Also, please provide recycling for glass bottles.

Great campground in a great location. This was a pull off the side of the road spot so somewhat difficult to level. Very great view.

Its unfortunate that the campground was considered full but in actuality there were many no shows and lots of spaces available.

We spent one night at Jumbo Rocks, Joshua Tree in an RV in November. The roadside pad area was not completely level, but not bad enough for us to feel we needed to bring out the levelling blocks. Climbing up on some of the rocks we got a great view of the beautiful sunset. The night was very cold so we didn't make use of the outdoor area - but there was a nice picnic table and fire pit. That night we threw on another blanket. The cool morning air was perfect for hiking the trail through this area. Beautiful spot, well worth camping without hookups for water and electricity.

We loved the campground itself. We had booked online months in advance and picked a site with rocks. We used the website to determine the proper length of the site as we have a trailer & pickup. When we arrived, we were told that the site would not fit us and that it was a website error. They did, however, move us from site 82 to 43. There are no rocks in 43. It was a bit disappointing. There is no water at the campground so come prepared. There are vault toilets but they were very clean! We will definitely go again because the area is really amazing and the Joshua Trees were in bloom.

Perfect weather, clean bathrooms, beautiful stars. Site 82, parallel parking, very tight for slideouts. Private sites. Bring your own water and firewood. Great location.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds in Joshua Tree. Very well maintained. If you're in an RV, bring extra leveling blocks. Since this is mostly a tent camping area, sites for RVs are not level. The hiking trails take you through breathtaking scenery. Bring firewood.
