The campsites in Jumbo Rocks Campground are too close together... there is little/no privacy and you can hear the conversations of neighbors sitting at their picnic tables. That's too close. C'mon NPS, give us a little more space between sites. Geez you really pack 'em in, as if our camping experience doesn't matter at all to you.

Lots of flat places for tents & trees for wind coverage

Very nicely maintained campground and good sized sites. The bathrooms were clean but there is no running water, so plan cleanliness accordingly.

A little squishy, but nice and clean.

While jumbo rocks is a bit crowded we had a great time. Plenty of toilets, rocks to climb on, tables were secluded, and the amphitheater was convenient. Excellent ranger talk on Joshua Trees that night. Jumbo rocks is right in the middle of all the great things to do in Joshua Tree NP. Only down side is nearest water is a long ways away.

Very nice, rather narrow camp sites among boulders and desert shrubs. We enjoyed a morning hike on the nearby nature trail which took us directly from our site via the popular Skull Rock along a nature path with signage explaining the plants and geological formations. We also passed Face Rock, which is best seen from a distance. We were glad to have easy parking on our camp site.

Great campsite! Larger than some of the other ones, fit our group of 6 perfectly, with extra room. Close to bathrooms and skull rock trail is right behind the site. Awesome, would recommend. Bring binoculars or camera- good critter watching!

Great place to just be. Lost of space to out a tent but water has created some ruts especially under and by the table. Not enough issue to make problems as long as you and the people next door are not all having 2 tents each. Restrooms are good.

Absolutely incredible. I brought my girlfriend and cousins visiting from New Jersey and Boston. It was the experience of a lifetime watching the stars fall during the meteor shower. The site was clean and well kept an absolutely shining example of the majesty of our landscape and the triumph of our national park service.

I ran into a unique experience when I arrived at my campsite. A group of people were BBQing in the parking spaces assigned to my campsite. It was about 1pm and I thought it was the previous occupants running slightly late. I asked how much longer they needed, and they started packing up rather slowly. However, it was very convenient that two rangers were on the scene and had already spoken to them. The rangers reiterated that they must pack up and hurried them to leave. It was extremely helpful to have these two rangers close by just in case the situation went unfriendly.

Thank you to those two rangers being on point and giving a helping hand.

Great campsite for a large group! Bathroom is nearby but not too close. We enjoyed this campsite very much. Beware, noise does travel throughout the campground.

I was very impressed with the campsite. My neighbors were cool and offered help too. The sites were all maintained well and the campsite was clean. The views, cool desert temps, and sunrise made it a great experience.

I have camped at JTNP many times over the years. Jumbo Rocks gives you the advantage over some other walk in campsites of having a confirmed reservation. I always try to select a site that gives me direct access to the open desert so that I can wander at leisure; any time of the day or night. The campground is clean, so long as your predecessors have picked up all their wind blown trash. Toilets are cleaned daily. Noise of generators nearby is the only thing that will disturb your peace & quiet. Wild life, geology & night sky are fantastic.
