Love how tucked in this campground feels! The surrounding monzogranite rock formations leave something to look at (and climb!) in all directions.

Great location of the end of the campground. Tent campers: the only flat place a bigger tent will fit is right next to your neighbor and behind the car - not very private. I had a 4p and it barely fit over by the table with only a small slant. No issues if you are not tent camping.

Quiet, clean, and spacious campsites. 72 had a big wide space to pitch several tents and close enough but not next to the toilet. Great!!!

we are a 2.5 hr drive to joshua tree. it was wonderful to open up recreation.gov two days prior and see openings at one of our favorite campgrounds. we arrived and many campsites were still open. enjoyed chilly temps, clear sky, star gazing and great hikes. what's not to like? perfect get away location and experience. cheers

I stayed two nights at the Jumbo Rocks Campground in spot 72 during the middle of the week in mid-January and it was amazing! It definitely got full, but all the campers were super respectful and pretty quiet. The giant rocks around the site are absolutely gorgeous and I woke up early to explore the area (lots to see!). The facility was very straightforward and easy to use. There are lots of pit toilets throughout the campground (no running water). The park rangers were all super nice and informative. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I would definitely camp here again!

Constant traffic and people walking through the camp ground. If you want any type of privacy this is not the camp ground for you. I will stick with other camping spots in JT.

Very busy at times (fully booked) so dont expect tranquility on the campground.Spacious pitch with good enough seclusion.Table and fire pit on site.Toilet in relative proximity.

Jumbo rocks is always a fun place to camp and scramble around the rocks. Beautiful views all around, one of our favorite places in Joshua Tree!

Amazing place! Nice campground among peculiar rocks.Vault toilets are clean and neat.No water in the park - it's a desert!

We arrived after dark and found our spot easily due to downloading the map ahead of time. Love the campsite! Its in the back loop and has smaller rock formations nearby. Ample parking space. Our two neighbors never came. The bathroom is super close, maybe fifty yards away. Loved that. The picnic table is not wooden, not sure what it is but its solid, heavy, and smooth. Joshua Tree was super windy that night so we took off the fly at 2:20am, luckily it wasnt too cold. Theres barely any signal, my phone said 1-2 bars but none of my messages went out.

The sites at the Jumbo Rocks campground are very large and surrounded by boulders. This is a very beautiful place.

We tent camped and experienced strong winds which impacted our stay negatively. On our second night our neighbors arrived at 10 pm and partied quietly until they were kicked out at 5 am. Then we heard them pack up, car doors opening and shutting until 6 am.
