I loved our camping site! Many rocks to climb, close bathrooms, and it was pretty spacious. The rangers and service workers were friendly and helped my group with our questions! You can walk the skull rock trail to skull rock as well. Heart Rock/ Arch Rock is a couple miles drive down.

Good. Not great though. Restroom is right there and smells wretched. Pretty campgrounds but sites are terribly cramped together.

This is our 4th trip to Joshua Tree (over 8 years) of taking our grandchildren to your park. The kids love the rock climbing, the hiking, and camping with us. We've always found the park to be clean and well run and were relieved to find it so this year. We pray that all the National Parks continue to be the wonderful places we've always found them to be! I've been visiting them for over 60 years - and have trips planned to 3 more this year!

We had site 65 and unfortunately the pit toilet was right in our site with all the people coming and going and the smellWe were very disapointed.

Site is right next to the restrooms, so you'll get a lot of foot traffic, which is still not too bad. However, the smells from the restroom will start to hit you. They do clean it out I'd say everyday, but that's when the smells hit the most. :/

Campground Pros:It's in the heart of Joshua Tree National Park. Many of JT's main attractions like Skull Rock, Face Rock, Split Rock are walking distance from this Campground. The Campground itself is a main attraction with many "Jumbo Rocks" to climb and explore. Fire pit is huge and will keep you nice and warm during the cold desert nights! Campground Cons: Many of the campsites are small and have limited capacity/parking spots available, so make sure you read the campsite specifics before booking. Our campsite (65) had a max of 4 people and 1 vehicle. Bathrooms are a half a step up from a port-a-potty. No showers or hand washing stations. Overall Jumbo Rocks is a beautiful campground. The pros outweigh the cons considering these sites were designed to preserve as much of the natural park as possible. 10/10 will camp again!

Excellent campsites. Slightly cramped, but well-appointed and clean camping space. Nestled in striking rock formations and near many must-see features and trails.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds anywhere. The rocks are fun to climb on and it’s close to all the best stuff in the park. It’s also one of the few campgrounds where you can reserve in advance. The rangers are super helpful and people there are respectful and quiet at night.Great place and I highly recommend it

Last minute reservation, I accidentally snagged the campsite next to the bathroom. The smell was putrid but the full moon made it worth it. Thank you Joshua tree!

Joshua tree is one of the best nature playgrounds. The hiking, sight seeing, rock climbing, and camping is spectacular. Having no internet is an added bonus so you can totally absorb the natural surroundings.
