The setting is beautiful. Campsites are crowded together, but many are worked in amongst the rocks - providing a sight-line barrier to your neighbors, though not a sound-line damper. Sounds do carry easily to adjacent sites, so while you may have the visual illusion of isolation, a crying baby, music or generator, or even an evening of camaraderie about the campfire soon reminds you that folks are packed in nearby.

Campsite was clean, lots of rocks and trails nearby. There are bees everywhere and very bothersome during the day. No bees at night.

Nice campsite! Loved the nearby rocks to climb and scramble on. Just wish there was a little more privacy from other campers.

Wonderful campground. Wonderful sites. We reserved both sites 63 and 64 and it was a perfect little compound for 12 people. Kids had plenty of rocks to scramble on. Nice, flat sites. The host let us park as many cars as we wanted as long as we fit in the two (very wide) spots. I have a 1500 Silverado and my BIL has a 2500 Ram. We fit both our trucks AND two small sedans. Bring a canopy if youre coming in late spring or summer!

We had such a great experience at Jumbo Rock! The hike to Skull Rock is a must!

Super cool site. Lots of privacy with all the little/big nooks and crannies. Plenty of jumbo rocks to climb and see surrounding area and mountains. Clean and well maintained. Not sure where to go if you needed assistance though. Its a ways from any rangers, also no water. Gotta do your homework! Would love to come back. Highly recommended.

Good spot, great experience! A couple of people did walk through our site. This site #64 is not too close to others, but definitely not secluded either. Restroom just on the other side of those jumbo rocks. Make sure to pack for the weather if tent camping! The wind made it feel way more chilly than it was when we went.

One of the best places on earth! Ranger Ryan Green was super knowledgeable about the camp ground and its surroundings - thank you all :) See you soon ! Jenny.

Excellent campground in the midst of JT NP! Plenty of room at our site to put up our tent and sit around in the evening enjoying the fire. Rocks provided some privacy from other campers, too.

Loved our stay at Jumbo Rocks! Fun camping among the rocks and sites were well spaced. Pit toilet was clean as far as pit toilets go and was located so you didn't have to walk too far. Plenty of recycling and trash bins. The atmosphere was respectful and pretty much quiet where we were. Great campground!

Great experience! Nice short trip to get away even during COVID 19. My family had some great pictures with those giant various shaped rocks. Even with a two year old toddler we did have a great time since kids enjoy climbing (but be careful u still need to watch them cuz some rocks can be really high) I hope we can enjoy the park more in the future to explore more trails when my son is getting older.

I loved the space in between campsites! The amenities are enough! Lots of places to explore near by! And the sky was just WOW!

Always a most pleasurable experience... Just need to make sure RVs follow the generator usage time rules, not so lucky this time around. Night sky is unbelievably clear, stars so vibrant. Buy local wood. No cell service. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Already planning a return trip! :)

Beautiful campsite in a beautiful setting. I purposefully chose a site with huge rocks in a background, and a Joshua Tree nearby. You can find site pictures on google. I went in October and it was perfect weather. Do not rely on walk-in sites. All were occupied by the afternoon. Beware, no water and there was no ranger on duty. People were partying loud in a site next to me. I was also visited by coyotes at night which left me startled. I heard them circling around in the gravel and a neighboring dog started barking. I ended up sleeping in a car for the rest of the night. LOLAlso, bring plenty of water and gas up your car. Only small hikes in the park, unless you have an off-road vehicle. Overall, very pleasant experience. But could be done as a day trip as well.
