We went on the hottest day of the year. There were about 8 families in the whole boulder campground, so it was nice and quiet. One problem were the bees. They came out of nowhere when we put food on the table and they didn't leave until night came. Bees were everywhere. At the lookout point, we couldn't get out of our car. They swarmed our car as we drove up. Otherwise we had a great time. The night sky was amazing.

Camping among the rocks offers good opportunity to climb a little for sunset/sunrise views.

Great campsite with one parking space, as most other campsites. :-) Restroom within close proximity but not right next to the campsite, which is great. I'd say about 2 -3 tents fit in this campsite.

Wonderful campground. Wonderful sites. We reserved both sites 63 and 64 and it was a perfect little compound for 12 people. Kids had plenty of rocks to scramble on. Nice, flat sites. The host let us park as many cars as we wanted as long as we fit in the two (very wide) spots. I have a 1500 Silverado and my BIL has a 2500 Ram. We fit both our trucks AND two small sedans. Bring a canopy if youre coming in late spring or summer!

Nice campsite with lots of room but was littered by previous campers. Also the door to the pit toilet did not lock. That caused some awkward moments.

Great place to visit. Bring water none in the park.

Stunning place to stargaze. Campsite is close to several large rocks that allow you to get away from the general campground and its lights & chatter and admire the stars. It felt like we were a bit close to other campers but that was just fine.

Everything on site was clean and easily labeled. Making the reservation however, was a bit more difficult because no one ever picked up the phone or responded to messages left on multiple occasions. Given that reservations ought to be made in advance in order to get a spot, and given the continued pandemic, I think cancellation fees should be waived if families have to cancel due to a medical issue, rather than just a change of plans. Thanks, we love nat parks!

Great place to experience Joshua Tree! Our site was great for our larger 4 person tent. The large boulders behind us allowed for lovely views in the AM and amazing sunsets. We will return to this site again for sure!

The privacy was fantastic, even though we were between two campsites. Super clean and pristine. The bathrooms were great.

Beautiful place at a great location in the park. Very quiet because of all the rocks blocking noise and providing some privacy. Just bring your own water.

Beautiful location, but smelly pit toilets and loud campers up very late and very early. Looked like almost all the sites filled up on a Monday evening, even in the shoulder season.

the park is my reason for living out here! i love spending time among the ancients in the park! bring an enclosed scented candle for the restroom, they help with the smell & provide just enough light thru the night time!

So much fun for the kids and adults! It was a perfect weekend experience before Thanksgiving break! Perfect natural playground for the kids from sun up to sun down!! HIGHLY recommend this campground!!
