Such a beautiful campsite and the surrounding scenery was spectacular. We enjoyed the dark night skies and star watching. Since campfires were limited, we enjoyed playing cards by lantern and also hiked out to find heart rock.

Abit far from the city about 20 minutes , but the experience that it brings is magnificent, priceless and amazing! Its safe, clean and spots are large. They really take good care it. Garbage bins are walking distance. It is the place to be, I would visit in heart beat!

Campsites are extremely small and crammed close together. I could hear the crinkling of neighbor's air mattress at night in a tent about 20 feet away. Other neighbors decided to share their grunge rock music with the rest of us whenever they were in their site, including the afternoon that we packed up and left (a day early). Couldn't stand it any longer. No shade anywhere. Made for a miserable camping experience .

Clean. Good evening programming at the amphitheater. Difficult to find the camp host for questions. Decent boulders to climb. Quiet. Bold squirrels and chipmunks.

Awesome location. There was one group in particular that played very loud music until about 4 am. This would have been an issue for any site in the campground. It would be nice if there was an occasional patrol.

I went at peak season. The park and campground were very crowded, with limited facilities and limited parking. Note: If there happens to be a large rock at your campsite, be aware that people feel free to climb it, so there is zero privacy.

The Jumbo Rocks area is fascinating. Surrounded by giant rocks and rolling desert terrain. You can walk anywhere outside camp spots into vegetation, animal holes, birds. The rocks make for fun climbing. This would be a great place for adventurous kids. The downside - the campground is very high density, putting you near other people. takes away from the wilderness experience. Joshua has become very popular. My recommendation is make it a day trip, going through the park and stopping for multiple short hikes. Then camp elsewhere with fewer people, like dispersed camping in Anza Borrego

Lots of illegal drones.

Unfortunately, groups of people are showing up who feel they can party w/ loud music, yelling & partying until way past midnight. (quiet time is 10:00 pm) They have no respect or consideration for other campers and when asked to please quiet down the noise, they get aggressive and menacing. There needs to be more active oversight by camp rangers. A few bad apples are ruining the experience for everyone else.

This was my group's 37th annual trek to JT. We had a blast. The campground hosts, Ron and Heidi, are wonderful. But for the bathrooms getting a little dirty, everything was great.

The Jumbo Rocks campground is in an amazing location and immerses you in the Joshua Trees experience. The facilities were clean and I was impressed by the recycling centers throughout the site. There are plenty of restrooms, so no waiting when you have to go. You are able to experience unique hiking right from your campsite and the sunrises and sunsets are awesome! Cant wait to return!

A giant playground for kids, who are free to roam and explore it. Sites are big & people were very respectful of the quiet hours (hopefully it stays that way).

This is a good spot if you're looking to get away from the younger crowds. There's a lot of space and loads of RV and campers, so if you're in your tent it's nice to have the space. Walks to rocks are super close.

Great campground. Close to Skull Rock, a few minutes from Arch Rock trailhead, and not far from the other main major trails. The view of the night sky is amazing from here and the facilities are well-kept.
