Loved our camp spot. Gorgeous view of the stars at night. Clean bathrooms and easy access to the trailheads. Our site itself was clean and well maintained. 10 out of 10, I will absolutely be back ASAP

Rocks are huge surround every campsite. Best one out of the lot

Hiking, walking, enjoying nature, campfires. The slot canyons at Hall of Horrors are easy to access and hike.

We camped in a tent. Great campground. Very quiet. Not crowded. Many RVs and camper vans.

We stayed at Jumbo Rock campground and had a great experience spending time with family. We had some of the most amazing hikes just from our campsite. It was the beginning of May, so the temperatures were still pretty mild.

The camp ground was ok. Some sights have flat areas for the tent, others dont. The rangers seemed to feel the need to say something every time they came by, but were not helpful in any way. The cherry on top was while we were packing up with our young children running around the volunteer rangers stopped by and pointed out the trash bag that was sitting next to our table and camping gear that needed to be brought to the dumpster. The evening before at the amphitheater, there was a lecture. The ranger spoke to global warming and greenhouse gasses, and how the Joshua trees would be affected within Joshua Tree National Park. He was intent on sighting lots of statistics which turned out to be wildly inaccurate. Our group included 12 kindergarteners who were board out of their minds. Finally we took a hike over to Skull rock where the rangers/volunteers could have been very helpful with the 30+ foreign tourists who all piled out of a bus and each had to have the same individual photo taken ushering our children out of the way. There is no water at the camp site and fire wood is about 30 min away. Its cold when the sun is behind the clouds and blistering hot when it is not. There is not much shelter, and the rangers dont let you tie anything to the vegetation. The wind picked up several tents and the campers retreated to their cars in the middle of the night. Others packed up and left at 2am.

Campsites are fairly close together, even with the variety of Jumbo Boulders blocking segmenting things a bit. Great area of the park, People were respectful of the quite hours. My site was far enough away from primary road to minimize noise, dust and flow of traffic.Vault toilet was as clean as can be expected and right near other campsites. No solar light in the toilet, so you need a headlamp/flashlight at night.

This is one of the most secluded sites in the campground. Cool backdrop right against the rocks and amazing view with a short climb.

Great site!

I had camp site 58. As a first time camper I didnt plan as well as I thought, and got stuff during a high intensity wind warning which lead to hail or snow or something. I camped my entire reservation even though getting through the storm in a tent was literally the hardest part. (Not recommended, always check your weather.) **{I used large hand warmers and that got me through my stay since the average temp was between 30-50 degrees throughout my stay.}Besides the weather, the camp was exactly what I wanted; a much more enclosed space for the max amount of privacy that was necessary to make me feel comfortable during my first camp trip. The location is beautiful with large boulders in view in most directions from camp. Parking from camp is a little walk, the sand makes it feel so much longer. I definitely would like something next time where my car is next to my campsite, so I can easily grab forgotten items easily and quickly. I located two bathrooms near the site and Id say they are both pretty equal distant, and surprisingly more cleaner than a public toilet in my home city. I perferd the pit fire grill over the tall grill, a propane stove would be better especially if there is wind. Plenty of shade throughout the day cus of the boulders. Hiking around in the area is easy and if you enjoy boulders and rocks youd love exploring the campgrounds here. **t-mobile: no service

Initially when arriving to our Jumbo Rocks Campground site 058, there unfortunately was another camper already set up there. It was an absolute mess with their belongings strewn across the entire campsite and trash all over. However, upon reporting it to the park rangers they sent park rangers to the specific to meet us and arrived within minutes. The response time is exceptional considering the massive landscape the limited work-force has to monitor. They kindly offered solutions to stay at an emergency campsite next to the camp host. This site ended up being even better anyway so no complaints from me and my wife! All in all, we still would recommend this campsite to anyone and everyone. It's nice to know that there is some sense of ease upon arriving and having to deal with problematic people.

Clean campsite, great neighbors, the park ranger made their rounds in the morning. Just an overall perfect night

I stayed at site 58 which was decent in terms of privacy and space. We were able to fit two 2-person tents in the back area for more privacy. Right next to the site are large rocks perfect for climbing and even laying down on. From the rocks, we got perfect views of the Milky Way at night and the sunrise in the morning. If you are a late sleeper, be prepared to be woken up by families and loud children at 7 am lol.

Glad I made my reservation because the place was full. What a great place to set up camp among all the jumbo rocks. Next time I go to Joshua Tree, I'll stay here again.

Lovely spot to stay in the park. The sites are very close together, but you can easily climb up and over the rocks behind each site to enjoy some space to yourself. Wonderful spot for stargazing and easy going exploration of the area.

We spent two nights at campsite 48 in early Oct. The picnic table is nicely isolated with brush and rocks. Large rocks surrounding the area with a great flat area to star gaze. Reminder- no running water and only pit toilets. The arch trail was a favorite.

The campground itself is beautiful! However the sites are very close to each other so there is minimal privacy between your neighbors. This is a very popular campground so lots of crowds and noise.

Great location. If you're coming in from the west entrance, you'll need to travel down the road some to get to this campsite, but it puts you at a great location to see some stars away from the lights. I recommend seeing the Cholla Cactus Garden at sunset.
