First time visiting Joshua Tree and campsite 52 at Jumbo Rocks was absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. Spacious compared to some of the other sites we saw around camp and appreciated the shade of the Joshua Tree during the hot parts of the day (spring time). Lots of spots to explore nearby and conveniently close to the bathroom.

this was our first time camping at Joshua tree and snagged the last camp site a month out. I was kind of bummed at first because it wasnt a campsite with the big rocks as the back drop but it actually turned out to be perfect! The campsite was close to the car but not on the road. It was nice and secluded. The bathrooms were clean! the very popular campsites were so congested with cars, rvs and people. We had a really nice experience and saw so much wildlife walk through our camp!

Campers next to me were a part of a large group. They were drinking and playing loud music throughout the night. Park service staff should have stopped this.

Loved our campsite #52, very private, shady during the night time (got a little colder than expected) but daytime was perfect weather :)

The staff in the visitors center gave excellent tips regarding what to see within the park based on my interests, hiking capabilities and time. They also gave good directions. Very valuable information!

Jumbo Rocks is such a beautiful place to camp. The desert skies are tranquil and magical at sunset. October moonrise was gorgeous and penetrating. Unfortunately on night two, our neighbors decided to play modern hip hop music until about 11pm which is about the worst combo to the soul food of the desert sky. How about some Pink Floyd or anything that fits the mood. Some people have no taste. Oh well. Good times. Love JTree National park

Good spot, small bit of walking to the campsite. Nice sunrises over the rocks to the east.

Great campground. Quiet and pretty clean. Some campers can't manage to get the trash IN the bins, but this is not the fault of those running the campground. Also, the Ravens. The michevious, vindictive, rude Ravens. Do no leave anything out that they can play with or damage. Because they will. Soft water bladders can not be left unattended for more than a moment. They seem to find joy in stabbing giant holes in them and watching the water leak out on the parched desert floor. They are jerks. Other than the trip to walmart for a new water container after my first one was eviscerated, it was a wonderful stay.

What a great campground! This was so close to many attractions in the park, and we could not recommend it more if you're planning on staying in Joshua Tree. The sizes of the sites definitely varied, we were at site 52 which extended into the park without any boundaries, while other sites were rather closed off by big rocks, so I definitely recommend looking at the different campsites if you're picky/depending on the size of your group. Definitely no service, but if you drive about 10 minutes towards the entrance of the park you're good. Our only complaint was that the bathrooms were pretty bad. They smelled horrible and had so many flies it was hard to stand being in there for even a few seconds. Other than that though, everything was perfect, would definitely recommend!

The camping locations are fairly well spaced so where you set up your tent is not too close to other groups. The parking is easily identifiable for the camping spots. The hiking and scenery are terrific. You can't beat the area for stargazing on a clear night. We did a hike by Skull Rock which was outstanding.

Jumbo Rocks is an excellent campground with sufficient privacy to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

So so crowded, but watching sunrise on the hills surrounding the campsites and hearing the coyotes from afar was an amazing experience. Plus, you reach very early hiking sites of Joshua.
