The layout of Jumbo Rocks campground was excellent and scenic, with the roadway working its way through the huge rocks. The 'ranger talk' was extremely well-informed and the park staff was very polite.Only complaint: the trail to Arch Rock and Heart Rock could have been a little easy to follow.

Clean and quiet despite being Spring Break and completely full. Trail from campground to skull rock enjoyable.

Great location. Very quiet, good people all around. Pay close attention to the site descriptions. We had to squeeze into our site. They said it was a narrow road, they mean it. They say 38 ft and a 18ft truck 18 ft trailer they mean it. However the camp hosts were fantastic and offered us a different spot if we could not make it work but we did so all good.

Given the heavy use, the campground was very clean, and campers well behaved.

Beautiful campground. I wish there had been a check in process to help direct me to my sight as it was hard to find. Also wish there was a place to fill up the water. Rangers at the visitor centers were not helpful with my questions and rude.

Fantastic location! The mix of rocks and plants makes this place really special. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset, sunrise and clear skies with a lot of stars.Although there are lot of spaces near to each other, you don't really see or hear what your neighbors do. The vault toilets were clean and good located. There are also a couple of hiking trails near to the campground. All together, it was one of the best places we spent the night! Hopefully we can return someday. :)

The campground itself was perfect, clean and well maintained. There was a large party at the end of our loop and no one came around to endorce the excessive noise which included amplified music through 1AM on one night and loud party goers talking and laughing loudly though the night the following day. The mornings were fine, except for the young girl that vommitted over way to the bathroom. Rangers to enforce the quiet hours is a mist

Great location. Phenomenal aesthetics. Awful communication of reservation requirements. No noticeable signage until you get there that the park is online reservation only. We knew by looking ahead that there were going to be spaces available, so wanted to choose our site and book in person. Not possible. I understand their reasoning for this. But it would have been nice when I asked someone at the entrance or at visitors center (which I did) that I would have been told "that is a reservation only campground". AND a simple sign pointing me to other walk in only campgrounds (we found at least two of them the next morning) would have been welcome.

While the setting was stunning, we had to endure an all night party with music still playing at 4:30 am. Daylight revealed a disgusting mess of human excrement and toilet paper all over the road near the party site.

The best campsite during our stay in the USA. We went to diverse NP Campgrounds but the ambiance was the best over here

Jumbo Rocks is beautiful, and the location is convenient. Camp hosts Heidi and Ron are terrific, knowledgeable, people who readily share info. I highly recommend you stay at another campground so there is more space available for me at Jumbo Rocks.

Arguably the best of the Joshua Tree campsites. Very close to Skull Rock and its nature trail, with the cholla garden also not far away.

Jumbo Rocks is a campground with an awesome location and views of the rocks/boulders. Be prepared for having all the dry camping ammenities needed (water, gasoline for generator). Campsite was sloped, which added some difficulty to leveling a Class A RV, but we did it. Also, be prepared to live without cellphones or internet during your stay (unless you have a vehicle and can drive somewhere to get reception.
