The bathrooms were never cleaned for our entire trip Monday through Friday. One day someone came and picked up the toilet paper off the floor but no one cleaned the toilet seat despite having a rig with water and a pump to the clean the bathrooms on their truck. In fact they put about 15 rolls of toilet paper and didnt return for the entire 4 days. And there was often a line at the pit toilet morning and evening, people waiting to use it so it got lots of use. Parking was slim and people were waiting for parking spaces as they were hard to come by. A shuttle to get around would have been nice to prevent cars driving around looking for parking and people parking from far away and walking on the roads. I would have liked to see more signs to encourage people to stay on the trails. The desert crust is a fragile ecosystem and I saw people taking a short cut when there was a clearly marked trail. I even told them the main trail would lead them the same way in the fork ahead but they said yeah and ignored me and kept walking. More interpretive rangers would have been nice and more signage. I really wish that commercial or park pay showers were available at the edge of the park. It would have been really nice to take a shower. One of our friends in a nearby site didnt realize there was no water in the area. Overall a beautiful and special place that I will return to.

Nice clean quiet central campground. Lots of people but sites are separate enough for privacy and safety.

Campground in a good location within Joshua Tree, despite being quite busy. The size and privacy varies significantly between sites.

The campsites themselves are amazing, they are tucked up amongst the rocky landscape and you can go walk around and sit up on rocks and watch the stars. Fellow campers were pretty respectful and quiet. Bathrooms were overrun with flies and bees during the heat of the day so I wasn't able to use them when I arrived and I did not check back later but might have been better when it got cool. Google maps made it seem like there are different types of bathrooms there but they are all pit toilets. So I highly recommend not counting on those bathrooms and taking care of business elsewhere.

Spots were a little closer together than I would prefer, but overall a nice campground with clean facilities and a ranger present.

Quiet and secluded. Flat spot for tent. Easy back in spot for vehicle.
