The Jumbo Rocks Campground is in a convenient central location for exploring the park. The huge rocks and desert plants give it a great ambiance. We enjoyed the ranger programs at the amphitheater in the campground and used the hiking trails that are accessible from it without having to drive.

Had a marvelous time in Joshua Tree. The first ranger we encountered at the North Entrance named Elliott was so very helpful. Plus you could see how much he loved his career choice! Camped at Jumbo Rocks and Cottonwood, both terrific. Also the night at Jumbo rocks had a ranger talk on the History of the National Parks and it was very cold but had no desire to leave, it was a great lecture and slide show! It may have been "Elliott" was his name, sorry!Great hikes weather and wonderful Park, thank you for taking such great care of it!

Beautiful desert park!

Campsites were extremely close together. Our car door opened up into overgrown bushes. There was no running water. Other camp guests do not shut the bathroom door leading to bees and flies swarming the outhouse. There was an older gentleman who constantly walked around and stared at me while I was minding my own business. He walked through our campsite on 2 occasions to get closer to me. Not a great experience.

Extremely unique experience unlike any other RV campsite! Large campsites with grills and tables. Spectacular views of the desert, jumbo rocks & mountains. Limitless hiking opportunities through beautiful & unique rock formations and greenery. Nice restrooms. Unfortunately no dump station. Be prepared...no cellular service.

One of our top 5 places to camp in our Four Wheel Camper flatbed. Jumbo Rocks #33 was a first or us...we'd go for #36 next time for a little more space.

Campground is great. Most sites are short (~20ft.) with some slant. Was still able to level truck camper. If longer, or with trailer, there are longer sites parallel to the road. Seems like when I booked, there were very few sites still available, yet it was <10% full the first night (ok, it was cold and windy), and <20% full on next 2 nights. It's "reservation only" but it seems like something could be changed.

Awesome campsite with a lovely view. Boulders provided some privacy. Noisy reveler neighbors on NYE, but otherwise was nice to do hiking right from the campground. Would definitely stay again.

Camp manager very helpful. Restrooms very clean. Obviously beautiful location. More specific instructions on leaving items at campsite to show "occupation" while away hiking need to be added to confirmation info. One of our sites was canceled because we didn't know and left our campsite empty while hiking.

The Jumbo rocks campground was very nice. Bathrooms were clean. Host was very nice. Some sites are very close to each other but others have more privacy.

Had a great trip to jump rocks. Ron was a great campground host resolving a hiccup with my reservation on a fully booked weekend. Kids had a blast climbing all the rocks. Start your day early to beat the weekend crowds! Week days werent too crowded on the trails.

Beautiful campground with huge rocks so you could tuck your camper or tent between.

In the center of the park, convenient location to get to at the end of the day, and easy to get out early the next. Lots of kids climbing around on rocks. Pit toilets were reasonably clean. Site was flat, had a lot of room.

Joshua Tree NP is magic. Like a cartoon landscape! We loved the campsites nestled among the rocks at Jumbo as well as the opportunities to hike from the campground

Great campground location among the granite rock outcrops @ Joshua Tree. It's a bit crowded and some of the sites are small so choose wisely (we stayed in # 25 for 3 nights & it was wonderful). The campground hosts are very organized and pleasant to interact with. Also, plan ahead as there is NO drinking water at the campground. The only downside of our visit was the condition of the bathrooms. I'm not sure they were cleaned during our 5 night stay and on the last night there was little if any toilet paper (best to bring your own). As an aside, we went over the Cottonwood CG for 3 nights and the bathrooms were spotless.

We had a great time at campsite #33. Weather in the daytime was perfect for Joshua Tree, at night it got a bit chilly and it was very nice to have a campfire to warm up next to. Rangers were all very helpful and led us in the right direction for our stay. Thank you RECREATION.gov and thank you to the National Parks.

My husband and I stayed in Joshua Tree for two weeks hopping around to different campgrounds. I don't know if I would stay at Jumbo Rocks again... the bathrooms were real nasty-- poop pee and toilet paper all over the floor and seats. I didn't notice this problem at any other campgrounds, and could very well be due to the people that were there at the same time as us? Sites are really close together here and our neighbors had a big group with them and were pretty loud the whole night. Loud, crowded, and the worst bathrooms in the park. I did like the skull rock nature trail. This was fun to be able to wake up and do the hike basically from camp!

Jumbo Rocks is otherworldly! Other than a remote campsite on a lake in the Adirondack wilderness, it's the most magical campground we've ever visited. And during this visit, we were fortunate enough to see the harvest moon set as the sun rose over the campground. Absolutely love Jumbo Rocks!
