Loved the experience. The campground is relatively large and hence hosts a considerable amount of people.Due to the layout, if your spot is chosen wisely, you can still get a feeling of seclusion and privacy even with a full campground. At night the coyotes can be loud and the will come up to your tent (certainly when you are on the outskirts of the perimeter). They wont do any harm to humans but can wake you up at night trough howling and yelping.Table with benches and grill were available at every site (as far as I could tell).

Beautiful and peaceful place. I keep going back to Joshua Tree National Park for years now and it is always a great, relaxing experience. Great for stargazing at night, amazing to watch sunrise and sunset. You can see cute small animals like chipmunks, rabbit and quail family. If you like camping Jumbo Rocks is the best.

This campsite is a great location in Joshua tree NP. Everything was well maintained and inviting. Skull rock, ryan mountain, cap rock and other spots are close by. Cap rock was a great spot to catch the sunset.

The Jumbo Rocks campground was a great location for a base camp to explore the park. Site #31 was a great spot, the surrounding area was full of great views and places to explore. I would stay here again for my next trip to Joshua tree. The pit toilets were all with in reasonable walking distance from camp sites.

Our family enjoyed our trip to Jumbo Rocks Campground. Our intent was to go stargazing during the new moon and the views were excellent. The campgrounds offer many different types terrain and our campsite was provided with a table and bench, and a fire ring. I do have to mention that we had neighbors that did not respect the quiet hours. There several groups that continued yelling and climbing the rocks after the curfew hours. I even had to step out of the tent in the middle of the night to kindly ask a couple to be quiet. But even after they graciously complied, we could hear the sound of loud music in the distance. It seems like a group of people were throwing a rave not far from our campgrounds. We have camped in different National Parks and this is the first time we have encountered such disregard for neighborly courtesy. A simple visit from a park ranger would have been appreciated but I imagine resources are tight and there are not enough of them to oversee the campgrounds at night.

Beautiful site, a bit noisy due to campgrounds being very close together.

Great campsite. Clean bathrooms and beautiful views. Wasn’t very crowded in August, campsites Next to use were empty. Hot in the day but nighttime was wonderful.

Site 31 and 33: both sites are large and open. Site 31 was a bit closer to others. One word of caution is that there is no shade and you are exposed to the sun and wind.

Really great experience. The kids had a blast climbing boulders. We saw a million stars. Very fun campground. This is a good spot for tent camping because the campsites are fairly small. You dont end up surrounded by giant RVs.

We had a great time climbing the rocks. Trails nearby were fun to hike. Only bad thing was there were quite a lot of bees in the bathrooms
