The visit was a big problem because the camping reservation does not indicate that there is no water. We were unprepared. This is a real problem .The park is not taking public safety seriously, It was a serious problem for us. Also for other campers who said they also expected water. There was information saying you couldn't watch ball games in your RV because there was no power at the sites, and that maybe you couldn't shower three times a day because there wasn't a water hookup for RVs at the individual sites. It also mentioned your RV couldn't get dumped inside the par, another "serious" problem. But as for campers, there was absolutely no mention of the fact that there was no water at the campground. For that matter anywhere in the park. I read a sign saying water was available at the west entrance but that is false, that is a lie - we went to the visitor center around 8pm and there is absolutely no water to be found. You CAN get it at the ticket booth, but the park fails to make that clear, they just say "west entrance", and they are wrong about that.

Great campground! The sites are sort of small and close together, but otherwise no complaints. Site 29 was off the main loop and had several flat spots for tents. Bathrooms were clean and nearby, but not too close. Lots of bees in the bathrooms (in case that is a concern for anyone who is allergic).

They jam as many spots into one camping area as possible. On one hand this means more people get to enjoy the area. On the other hand this means you can here people speaking/laughing throughtout the night, and generators, etc. You also have to walk theough peoples campsites to get to the road or bathroom. It’s a stunning location but too crowded for my liking.

We loved visiting Joshua Tree and the campsite was awesome, rangers were very helpful. Only complaint we have is that the sites were very close together and we had to walk through other people's sites to get to our own. Overall, we had a great visit!

The campsites are really small and right next to each other. Very little privacy. Again, the wind made it rough to camp in a tent or enjoy a fire.

Reserved a site ahead of time and it was very easy to get to and set up. Great spot for astrophotography with mostly open areas with a few small hills and Joshua trees.

Campsites 28 and 29. 28 is a bit small with no really flat spot but 29 is great, with more privacy and a couple of flat spots for small tents. We parked at the Echo parking lot instead of Barker Dam (too crowded - much better choice. Picnic at Hidden Valley. Drove to Keys View.
