Very nice, scenic campground within Joshua Tree National Park. The sites are quite varied and it is honestly difficult to choose the right one if you havent previously seen them. There are hiking and cycling opportunities right from the campground and the drives to other hikes and attractions are not far.The surrounding mountains, etc. are very unique. The tenting sites looked to be great. The RV sites were a bit more limited. Some were too narrow to allow for the use of slideouts, many were quite short and others seemed to be backwards as they were on one way roads and required the steps to come out into traffic.

One of the most incredible campgrounds we've ever stayed in. Stunningly beautiful setting. We experienced quiet nature. Loved the hiking trails and our large and private site. Highly recommend!

This is definitely a park where you want to get out of the car and stretch your legs. There are a lot of trails of all difficulty levels, so anyone should be able to find a trail to match their abilities.

Jumble Rocks Has to be one of the best campgrounds in the country. So many great sites tucked in the rocks with the dessert carpeted with yellow flowers!

Nice campground. Though no cell service. Sign for campgrounds 25-4x is pointing in the wrong direction. Passed the road to my campsite twice before guessing the sign was pointing improperly.

This was a really fun place to camp. Lots of easy hiking trails near by. This is not a drive through campsite you can drive up next to the site which is somewhat blocked by a big bush but still was a fun place to camp with kids.

Over the years I've traveled through Joshua Tree by motorcycle with friends and had to stay at Cottonwood campground each time, as Jumbo Rocks was never available. On a recent trip my wife and I were traveling in our motorhome and were able to get a site in Jumbo Rocks for one night on our way back home to SoCal. We were excited to spend some time there! Unfortunately, the weather was terrible. It was cold and very windy when we arrived, but we did get to explore the area a bit before it started raining hard. In spite of the bad weather we were able to get a sense of what the campground was like and loved it. We will try to come back again with our grandkids as they'll love exploring the area and climbing on the rocks.

Wonderful area for my truck camper. Away from digital distractions. Few level spots, had to lift the camper off the truck slightly. Otherwise a Wonderful experience.

Lovely campground nestled in huge boulders. Many sites are fairly small. No Verizon connectivity.

We had an excellent stay at Jumbo Rocks. The hosts, Heidi and Ron, where very helpful and shared valuable information on excursions into the area.I did Christian's Geology Hike from Skull Rock. One of the best park presentations I have been to. It like a little more nerd factor that most general park talks. I think Christian did a great job of satisfying the entry level visitor and the mid level nerd.

Awesome campground.. However do some pre-trip planning on exactly where your spot is. Its a little confusing with the one way roads within the campground.

Beautiful campground. Working vault toilets! Relatively clean.

The campground was quiet as there were only two people near our site throughout our stay. There is hiking all around and skull rock trail is right around the corner. There was a bush area that we used the restroom in using our bucket toilet. It provided privacy for changing as well. We car camped and felt safe. I would stay here again during the week. I get the feeling that weekends get crazy.

The campground was beautiful and the facilities were fine. The noise level was a little much to take. Lots of very late night arrivals playing music and talking and early risers playing music and talking. No respect for quiet hours.

Had 2 nights booked in Joshua tree. Both days I showed up with people in my spot. The people were not present when I arrived, they just left their camping gear so I couldn't tell them to leave. So I wasn't able to set up camp myself. Luckily a park ranger gave me another camp site the first night, but when it happened again the second day I just left and found a free camp site in San Bernardino national forest. Pretty park but poorly run.

fGreat scenery and the camp sites are well spaced. Restrooms (pit toilets only) were kept clean and stocked on a daily basis. The park service provides adequate trash, recycling, and propane bottle recycling bins throughout the campground. The only minus and to us its a big minus is the reservation system. The system is easily manipulated so the campground appears totally full and you can not claim a vacant site upon arrival even when at any given time there are people who do not show up and the camp site goes unused. Yes the park service and recreation.gov benefit by collecting a fee for unused sites but the general "drop in" visitor can not sign in to an unused site. There must be a better system than this. From a former National Park Ranger.
