I booked the first day reservations opened for the dates I wanted, so I could have booked something better, but I couldnt tell from, the photos, so I ended up with a campsite that was squished in between two others. Luckily no one showed up for those campsites, but I had no idea they wouldnt because both sites had a reserved sign on them. When I say squished, I mean my picnic table was less than 20 feet from the one in the next camp site. Other sites were far more private. Also there was very little shade in my campsite and so it was either miserably hot or ridiculously windy. I was only tent camping without many amenities, so it could have been better if I had more, but the point is, there were better sites and I just couldnt tell from the photos online so be careful as to what you choose if youve never been there before.

I've camped at Jumbo Rocks many, many times and I love the park and all the wonderful areas in the park. The national park is like a huge playground for climbing and scrambling - you can do mild-mannered scrambling or world class climbing. I also like the trails in the park.

super clean and beautiful. we chose this campsite randomly and im so glad we did cause it has the best views of the rocks. they are literally apart of your campsite. had really nice campsite neighbors. would highly highly recommend this campsite if you wanna see one of the most beautiful parts of the parks.

The campground is a wonderful place, nestled among the rocks. We caught some amazing sunsets and stars. The sites, however, are really close to each other. While we were fortunate that no one booked the site immediately next to us during our stay if they had it would have been impossible to not know all of each others business. So just be aware / temper expectations. Overall, highly recommend a trip here to experience the expansiveness of the area.

Amazing to see the night sky and be among the rocks. This campground feels quite undisturbed for the number of sites.

Excellent campground. The lady there was awesome. The only issue we had was we couldnt see the whole space in the picture online and when we called the park it took 3 days for a callback and they werent sure it would work for our set up. Luckily it did but was stressful until we got there

The campsites were very crowded, with too many people. Just a reminder for everyone, if you have more than four people, you should get a group campsite at another location within Joshua tree park. It is not appropriate to have more than four people at a campsite, even if they are children. It ruins the experience for others.

We had a really great experience. Our reserved campsite was vacant and clean when we arrived. We had fun climbing around the campground for a couple hours until sunset. We had no campers on either side of our campsite. After dark it seemed luke we had the whole campground to ourselves. We woke up early to catch the sunrise at the top of ryan mt only a few miles away. The whole park was a clean enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to come back.

Fabulous surroundings, well equipped sights and rangers / staff were extremely helpful. Only complaint is that the campsites are very close together which is a problem if you have noisy neighbors - which we did until late at night

Great location, close to park entrance! Everything for a successful camp is located on site and the bathrooms are very close. Plus you can watch the sunrise from the rocks!

Definitely one of my favorite national parks, highly recommend camping here! Try some of the less popular hikes during busy times, they're just as lovely and you'll have less people to navigate around. Excellent star gazing. No cell service or running water- not a bad thing, just make sure to bring in all the water you need.
Just a heads up- if it's busy and the dumpsters are overflowing, be prepared to carry your garbage out with you! People come here to see the desert, not garbage scattered about :)

Great campground with so many rocks to climb and watch the amazing sunsets!
