The campsites were separated from each other, so we enjoyed our own private space.A starry sky and a world without the internet. It was very relaxing.

Great location right among the huge boulders of Joshua Tree! Each site is a little unique but all of them are close to restrooms and trash. Stunning rocks to take in a sunset as well.

Nice campground surrounded by big rocks good for scrambling. Lots of space and in the middle of nature.

Clean campground with excellent access to trails and great rocks to climb and explore in camp. Close proximity of camp sights means good neighbors make a good experience but bad neighbors can spoil the mood rather quickly.

I've been coming to Jumbo Rocks since 1996, and it never fails to bring me solace and peace walking through the granite boulders. The morning bird list included over 10 species, with Gambel's quail walking around our tent. The camp volunteer, Pat, was exceptional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Lost Horse Mine for those who truly want to see the remnants of a gold mine from the 19th century--well preserved and a moderate 4-mile hike to 5,060 feet. It's about a 10 mile drive from Jumbo Rocks. Definitely get there early as parking is limited at the trailhead....

The campground is easy to get too. There are hikes close to the campground. The campgrounds are pretty small with limited space. There is no light, so make sure to bring a lantern. There is a table, grill, fire pit. A ranger stopped by the next morning, he said he received a noise complaint from our group, there were only 6 of us. We obeyed all the rules, and we bought 2 campgrounds. He was very unprofessional the way he was speaking to me, he even brought up the police to try and scare me. Great location nice and dark, but that one ranger was rude.

I had a great experience with the campground. I appreciated that the restrooms appeared to have been hosed down at least twice on my two night camping trip.

I think that the campgrounds are a little too close together unless you are with a group renting multiple campgrounds together. the restrooms are clean and well maintained. I enjoyed my stay and December was a good time to go. It was cold at night but during the day it was perfect hiking weather. I gave been going to Jumbo Rocks for years and it is my quick getaway from Los Angeles.

Jumbo Rocks is a great Campground and it is easy to hike to Skull Rock, Split Rock, and the Discovery Trail. I stayed in campsite 22 and the sites 16 - 24 are really close together so you will get to know your neighbors well and there is not much room for large tents.

Beautiful, amazing Joshua Tree, what can I say. Go with an open heart and be filled.

The spots were really small, I'm glad I'd reserved two rather than just one. Plenty of flat spots for the tents, the grate over the fire pit was nice for cooking. Loved all the area to explore right from the campground. We'll definitely camp here again.

Campground was clean, but there was one toilet for about 70 people. There was always a line and bathroom was trashed by the end of the weekend. Also, the sites are small and on top of each other.Otherwise, the location in the park is excellent and the rocks are stunning.

I got in late and couldn't find a site monitor to help - someone had set up in my site. Since I was only there for the night, I didn't make a fuss. When I let the staff at the park gate know what happened, they offered to refund my site fee. I'd rather that the park keep the fee. I love JT and Jumbo Rocks. Hope to get out there again soon and get a do-over. It's so beautiful and the Jumbo Rocks site as well as the rest of the park is maintained so beautifully.
