I think that is a great campsite for a few days of quiet relaxation. The campsite and restrooms were very clean. There are also many hiking trails around the campsite,so I,a hike, was very satisfied.

AWESOME campground built into the natural rock setting. You have to see the whole park!! Drive, hike or rock climb to get the best view that suits you!! I will definitely camp and visit this park again!! They even have backpacking camping!!

Joshua Tree National Park is AWESOME!! I stayed at Jumbo Rocks Campground and it is a very beautiful campground set among the natural rock formations. I will definitely go back and spend more time there again!! The other campsites looked great too!!

The campground was well-maintained, providing a pleasant experience. Our children enjoyed climbing the large rocks adjacent to our site with beautiful landscapes. While shade was limited, temperatures were comfortable. The site's spaciousness accommodated our family of five comfortably, and surrounding bushes ensured privacy. Convenient access to trails. We had an excellent time!

Wonderful campground for early spring. Beautiful rocks. A bit tricky to pick a site online, the quality of site varies greatly. We found that although all the sites were booked online, during the stay, about half remained "reserved" but empty. Wish the websites were better set up to manage this.

We love Jumbo Rocks and the area is undoubtedly beautiful. Note that this campground is popular with families. We visited as a family as well but it just so happened that the groups on both of sides us had small children which in our case meant crying throughout the night and screaming (with joy) during the day. The kids seemed to be having a blast and I don't begrudge them but we barely slept nor had a moment's peace the entire weekend. I know this may make me sound like a grump (I'm not) but it unfortunately made our stay less pleasant and certainly not restful. We loved our time in the park when not at the campground but our area and neighbors made it a nightmare. So be forewarned... if you're looking for any kind of solitude or restfulness while you stargaze, this might not be the spot for you. Of course it's the luck of the draw so it's tough to know. By contrast, we stayed at Indian Cove last time and it was incredible. We won't ever stay at Jumbo Rocks again.

My family loved the whole experience! Since I reserved the campsite online, and I had a Senior park pass, entry and check-in were a breeze. It was easy to setup and bathroom facilities were adequate. Hiking all around the area is wide open including rock climbing. And the night sky with all the stars is unbelievable!

Only stayed one night but wish I brought enough water to stay longer! The night sky was clear and I had a great view of the stars. Soil/sand was not terribly compacted, was able to drive in my stakes well enough. Only amenities are vault toilets -- bring your own water!! Please be advised: The parking spot near your site's post may not be adjacent to your actual site -- look for the site number on the picnic table itself. I almost set up in someone else's site! No cell reception (Google Fi). If you want a campfire, buy firewood outside the park and bring with you, and enough water to douse it. I recommend Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Yucca Valley ($5 per bundle as of December 2021).

It was a bit different than expected. I thought it would be like similar campgrounds nearby where you pull your vehicle onto your spot. This one had like parking spaces nearby with curbs and then you brought your stuff over to your table. Made it a bit awkward in a camper van but overall it was scenic. I enjoyed a small little pathway leading away from the campsites to some cool rocks/views.
