The reviews are here worried me a bit until we got there. This campsite is GREAT! The bathroom were clean, the visitor center is a short mile walk and the Cottonwood Springs Trails can be picked up right from Loop A. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The only downside is zero internet connection. Wish was both a blessing and a curse.

Beautiful, quiet campground. Night sky was amazing. Coyotes howling at sunset and sunrise were very cool. Not a lot of shade in the day. There was a drowned rodent in the womens room. I am guessing it went in the open door for water.

Great space. We went for star gazing and photography and were not disappointed. Nearby hike was great. Bring plenty of water!Would be cool if Visitors Center had a few amenities to buy other than boxed water. Toilets were spotless until our last morning when I woke to find the mens room unusable. Always someone to spoil things. Would come again!

Great campground! Everything went well. Bathroom has no lights at night, make sure you bring a flashlight!

The campsites were weirdly designed for every users. There were boulders everywhere as if to block every from entering campsites. The roads were also rather small. But the view was fantastic and the price was awesome. That was the two most important factors.

Cottonwood was, when we stayed here, midweek end of october 2023, a nice and quiet campground. I liked it. We stayed on loop 2 with a tent. Level lots. I wold stay here again and would recommend it to anyone of my best friends!

The bathrooms were very clean, not a spider or scorpion in sight!! The camp spaces are private enough that you dont feel like youre camping on top of another group, but close enough to feel neighborly. So long as the previous campers pick up after themselves, the campgrounds are au naturel. If youre there on a weekday, I am sure you will be blessed with magnificent sights of wildlife. I would have to say it was truly an experience!

We stayed in B loop, spot 19. We did some car camping. This campground is awesome. It's clean, decent space between sites, and the bathroom has flush toilets and running water! And 2 drinking water spouts! These luxuries and the amazing backdrop/playground that is Joshua National Park made it a trip to remember forever! Thank you!

Some people ran their generators all night. In general, most people kept it quiet after 9 which is a rarity and quite wonderful. Beautiful campsite with a great bench. Could use lights in the bathroom.

It is always nice to have a campground with water. The campground was crowded, as it was late December, but most campers were respectful of each other. Our site offered a fantastic view and easy access to several connecting hiking trails, directly from the campground. The trails were fantastic.
We had plenty of (not timid) kangaroo rats join us at the site after the sun went down. A good number of birds entertained us after our morning hike / after most of the other campers vacated and before the next night's campers arrived.
As all sites are reservation only. As there is no internet service in the area, assuming you can just come in and grab an open spot and then book it online isn't an option. You can not just grab a site that isn't occupied, as it may actually be reserved.

Our stay was very lovely. The sites are quite close together but we never really heard anyone. The bathrooms were quite clean and surprisingly warm even in the mornings.

We had a great stay Friday night and decided to stay on Saturday so we drove down to the ranger station at 8:30 when they opened but they couldn’t help us even though there were electronic billboards everywhere saying “limited camping. Ask a ranger.” They told us to drive 8 Miles out of the park to get internet and go book a site on recreation.gov We secured our site by 9am and went out and explored the park all day since we were in a motor home you drive. Got back around 6:15 on to the site we had reserved and someone was in our site and wouldn’t leave. No one ever came by and marked the site reserved. You would think this would be done between checkout and checkin time. In addition, there was no emergency number on any board. No host at campsite. No after hours number at visitor center. Needless to say we had to drive over 2 hours to find a site that night. Please credit my credit card for our stay we didn’t get to have.
