The park was nicer than we expected. Pristine toilets. Very quiet.

Great place, very clean, peaceful and organized.

Campsite was way too big for me and my little tent. The coyotes serenading the campground every night was nice.

Great campground. Clean restrooms and dark sky site. Only issue was it was super cloudy the night we stayed. We would definitely stay here again.

It was nice to have flush toilets but the sites were very close together so there was a lot of noise from other campers.

We were camped in sight B 15. Our RV is only 24 foot long. We did not put our slide out out and still almost got clipped by a truck pulling a fifth wheel. We attempted to find the camp host to cancel the 2nd night but could not find them after walking both loops. Tried to cancel at the Cottonwood Visitor Center but told to call. Not possible without cell service. Eventually got a refund after going to the 29 Palms visitor center. Park was l beautiful, service not good.

Lovely clean, quiet site. Can hike Mastodon Peak or Lost Palms Oasis direct from the campground.

It's 2025... interior of restrooms should have motion detector LED lights. I respect the need for non-obtrusive lighting in the desert. Also find the parking lot curbs are unnecessary tripping hazard since there are no lights outside either. Maybe painting hi-vis yellow?

Well maintained campground with a beautiful night sky. Also is the trailhead to some great hikes. Would definitely revisit next time we visit JTNP.

Not having anything to reference our stay at the campground was great. Sites were nicely spaced. And plenty of camp sites around the park. Beautiful lagoons, hiking and biking trails abundant. Nice clean bathrooms. Really close to town. We would definitely book again in the future. Thumbs up for this campground.

Great campground there is a restroom and drinking water available. If you are car/tent camping a shade shelter is useful as there is no real shade from any trees or brush here. Usually a cool breeze comes through in the afternoon.

Great park, clean campground, less people here than anywhere in the park.

The site B-15 is open a curve and inappropriate for rigs that have driver side slide outs .. This should be put into the description as it caused a lot of trouble and a possible citation for road blockage

Great campground away from all the noise! Beautiful views and functional services.

Quiet and private campsite with water about 1 hr drive from the other campgrounds. I liked that the site wasnt near any features that may lead to other visitors walking through my camp

We stayed at Cottonwood in hopes of a successful evening of Stargazing. We knew the moon would be up so we were looking before it started to rise. The campsite was clean and had parking. We plan on returning- for a New moon and look forward to a fire in the firepit.

Clean facilities, quiet after curfew, friendly and knowledgeable host.

The camping parking is extremely treacherous unless you have a tent or a very small unit. You pull into your "site" by pulling partway off the road and onto the shoulder. There are a lot of boulders and bushes and trees in the way. You can't really get off the road much, especially if you have a pickup truck or a trailer. It took us over an hour to avoid the boulders from hitting the trailer or truck and fudge our way onto the shoulder. Door opens over a rock, oh well. Forget slides except on the road shoulder side, and even that is iffy due to the the larges bushes and trees. The California tenters swarm in for the weekends and don't care about any of the park rules. We were shocked to see people washing their dishes in the bathrooms and at the water faucets. We saw several drones, though they are expressively forbidden with signs indicating such. No one seems to care, including the park rangers. There was one camp host (a single person) for both the A and B loops (the entire campground), and what is one person going to do? Would never go back here. This place was trashed in 2020 while it was closed for Covid. Can see why. Californian's don't seem to care about their own parks. Very sad.

Cottonwood is always a great place to stay. Nothing can compare to that night sky!!!

The campground was fine although a bit tight for a push out but that was mentioned up front. There was a car parked in our spot when we got there that no one knew who the owner was. We moved to the NPS emergency spot (luckily).
I think the car should have been towed much sooner. As it was they finally gave a 24 hour notice but by then the owner had come back. There should have been a penalty for taking someone’s campsite! I’m not sure anything happened.

Beautiful location. This site B15 was situated in a way that I felt far from the other campers. I loved it

site B15 was clean and tidy, including the restroom facilities . Have already re booked for anther site in April, The park area here is particularly scenic and remote for those looking for a quieter enjoyable experience.
