Campground was convenient location, but rustic. Good refuge from high winds and weather. Looked like interesting hiking trails available.

Poorly maintained campground, roads are crumbling, signage regarding where campsites are located is very poor. My campsite had large ditch running through it from water runoff. Could be a nice campground if it was fixed up some

After being without cell service, it was nice to camp at a park with service to get some work done. Roads conditions within park not great.

Black Rock Canyon CG in Joshua Tree is in an absolutely beautiful setting. It is surrounded by a high concentration of Joshua Trees. There are many trails that can be started right from the campground. However, as is the case in so many of the United States National Parks, the lack of maintenance of the campground over the past decades is very apparent. The infrastructure is crumbling from neglect, the landscape is being eroded away due to lack of suitable structures to handle the runoff from rain. Much of the landscape near the most popular trails is trampled and lifeless because the park is not communicating to its guest how to be good stewards of the land nor is there sufficient trail design elements to encourage hikers to stay the trail. It is a shame that the wealthiest country on Earth neglects what it considers a "National Treasure". We obviously do not "treasure" these lands enough to preserve them for future generations to enjoy. We need to get our priorities straight!

Nice pull-through campsite, we were in site 015.

Great place, nice breezes, great hiking and for the most part quiet. Some of the spots provide a little challenge for larger, 30ft+, RV's to get level. There always seems to be someone with a dog who does not care if they bark continuously.. but a very relaxing week over all. Stores, restaurants and the park are all conveniently close.

This campground needs MAJOR updating and fixing of roads. Sad to see such a beautiful campground in a beautiful location have such poor roads and sites.
@DerekM786 · Camped on Jan 10, 2022 at Campsite #15
This is a beautiful spot. Since it is on the end of a dead-end road, there is no through traffic, so it was very quiet. Nonetheless, day outings to other parts of the park were very convenient.

RV sites have no services and are very un-level. The campground roads are not maintained and have potholes and ruts. Not worth the price.

Beautiful location!
Rangers and staff are friendly, informative and extremely helpful.
Water spigots are plentiful.
Restrooms are clean and well equipped.
Trash dumpsters and recycling are easily accessible.
Campsites are well spaced and easy to access.
Having a dump station is helpful for those with RVs.
The nature center, campground and trails are very well maintained.
We will definitely camp here again!

Originally was only going to stay one night, but didn't want to pull my trailer in 60 mph winds! So stayed a second night, but had to switch sites. And had to do it all online as the ranger is not allowed to make camping reservations. We have stayed here before, but this trip we didn't get to really do anything.

It’s a beautiful campground! You’re surrounded by a stunning landscape. You can’t see town but you’re close enough to drive in if you need anything. The sites are small and you’re close to others so keep that in mind. If going with a group, definitely book sites side by side.

My only gripe would be how loud some have become given the popularity of the place now, it seems there may be a lot of those that are there for the "party" atmosphere now rather than really enjoying the place, hopefully the Subaru craze might fade out and then we can get back to being surrounded by those that really enjoy it for what it is.
