It was a great spot, there is a slight slope, but we just parked our cars there which left more than enough space for our tents. The sky was absolutely beautiful, cant wait to go again. PS: If you get there after dark its on the road to the left after passing the split in the road.

A nice campsite in the midst of Joshua trees! The bathrooms were nice and very clean and it was great the visitor center was so close to walk to!

We arrived just before the visitor center closed, and the ranger literally locked the door as I was about to enter. She obviously realized the error of her ways and did ask if we needed something, but was very terse in her answers. The roads were awful, and not a level spot in the campground. Well not be back.

Sites very clean, as were the bathrooms. But sites are way too small and close together. You can practically sit in your chair in the middle of your site and shake hands with your neighbors sitting in their chairs in the centers of the three or four sites that are adjacent to your site without anybody needing to get out of their chair. A few Joshua trees scattered about and some low bushes that are 3 - 5 feet high give you virtually no privacy. About half the roads in the campground are dirt and the other half are paved with crumbling asphalt full of potholes. This site does have potable water and flush toilets. There are plenty of trash bins. The campground is very close to a residential area. After sunset I could see lights from homes about 1/2 mile away. I suppose it is OK for folks in a trailer or motor home, but I was in a tent and would have been more comfortable in my back yard.

The water pumps were very wasteful. The one pump had two spigots, so we had to hold two bottles at the same time, and even then, the water went all over the ground. The instructions said fires could only be in the fire ring or on the grill. There was no mention of where camp stoves could be placed, and the woman who checked us in brushed me off when I asked about it. The picnic table was concrete, so we felt comfortable setting the stove there.Aside from those two things, the campsite was great. I especially liked the motion sensitive lights in the restrooms.

Beautiful campground; close proximity to trailhead. Access to nature center and rangers. Flush toilets and close enough to town for wifi.

Great access to hiking in the park. The best day hikes are easy to get to from the campground. The campground, itself was well maintained. Bathrooms were clean, the host was helpful. The sites are a bit close together for my taste, but not unusual for a national park campground.

The hikes in the area are wonderful. Close enough to the city if you need any items but far enough away to be out & just enjoy nature. The Camp Hosts were friendly/helpful; and the Ranger gave us some more detailed information regarding the hiking paths near the camp.
