People were abusing generators quite a bit. I wish they were not allowed. Other than that a good campground with running water and Joshua trees.

Campsite was great. Very large and flat. Big enough for two RV's side by side. The roads are tight through the campground. It was hard with a 28' MH, I can't imagine with a larger trailer or fifth wheel. Joshua trees are not tall, so don't expect a lot of shade -- but you will get great solar. Sites were spaced out enough in our section.

Great site. Can be louder at night. If you are a younger group, the host may not be kind to you. Other than that great time.

Really enjoyed the space for our RV. Large space, clean and easy entry. Glad I didn't have to use some of the other spaces as the park road was terrible and severely damaged by the rain. Thank you,

Joshua trees are beautiful in the Blackrock area . The campground appears to be very old and very run down . One and done .

Campground needs updating - facilities were old and sub-par, roads are washed out and very bad. Sites themselves were nice and big, but uneven and ruts running through them. We've stayed at a lot of National Park campgrounds, and this one is our least favorite. Very little signage, especially when you first come in - if you come at night, it's next to impossible to know where to go.

Office personnel friendly and helpful. You do need road repairs

We spent 4 nights in campsite #64 in Black Rock Canyon Campground. The campsite is large and we had no issues at all fitting our 27' travel trailer. The site was not very level but leveling was easy enough. Surface was packed, sandy dirt. The visitor center was close by, as were restrooms and access to drinking water. There is an RV dump station with water. The paved roads in the campground are not great, but none were impassable so I see that as not an issue. We did have cell coverage with Verizon. It was 1-2 bars but completely adequate for our purposes. There are a few trails accessible from the campground, but the main JTNP trails require you to drive through the main park entrance and into the park proper. The staff at Black Rock was very helpful and answered all of our questions no matter how mundane. We do plan to return to Black Rock in the future.

Beautiful campground. Love the generator hours. Large spots. Close to town.

It’s a lovely campground with some stunning Joshua trees. Good bathrooms and potable water.
It is a ways out of the main park (1 hour to cholla gardens) so be prepared to get up very early to start more popular hikes at decent times.

The ranger is knowledgeable and helpful. The campground itself was not our cup of tea, as it was a bit far away from some of the more interesting geological features, and the campsite wasn’t special in any way. The campground is easily accessible from main roads, so that could be a positive for lots of folks.

It was a quick one nighter in transit but looks promising for the future!

Beautiful sunrise! High View Nature Trail was a climb but the views were totally worth it. Ladies in the welcome center were super nice and helpful. Highly recommend this campsite!
