Camp site was good but it felt like there needed to be more locations where you could refill your water. Also my wife wished there were more places to put your recycling.

We tented in an upper spot with a beautiful view of the mountains and the low country below us. We were grateful for the flush toilets and convenient sources for filling our jugs with drinking water at the park, as well as easy access to wonderful hiking trails. For me, the negatives were that the campsites were tiny and shoulder to shoulder with the neighboring sites - no real space to separate us from our neighbors on all sides. Also, many sites did not offer level tent spots, as though minimal or no site leveling was conducted when creating the campground. I would definitely come here again in the future.

Really well-organized and clean sites, with water available and good restrooms. The campground is lovely and close to the beautiful Panorama Trail. We stayed overnight during a full moon, and the next day we enjoyed hiking the Panorama Trail. We had a fantastic time!

space too small. Only enough to have 2 tents. And it is very windy. Maybe it can be better in other dates

This is a small campsite surrounded on 3 sides by other campsites so depending on how your neighbors position their vehicles and tents, it can feel very close. It's one of the farthest from water and bathrooms which can be good if you don't want a lot of traffic walking by you but if you have a small child who needs to potty in the middle of the night can be a far.

Really enjoyed this campsite because of the trails connected to it. Beautiful sunrise!

The campsite was a nice place to stay, with some desert vegetation, plenty of campsites and not far from Joshua Tree National Park. However, the campsites were in too close proximity to one another for our liking, and the roads were not in great condition, although passable.

I stayed at site 79. Not the most spacious campsite or campsite area. I was within 10-15 feet of other campers to my right, left, and across from me. I was so close I had to introduce myself. I could hear all of their conversations through the night.

I love Joshua Tree but the experience at Black Rock Campground was just so-so. We usually camp at Indian Cove but it was full. The Black Rock campsites are too close to each other so there is little buffer from neighbors. We camped for two nights and neighbors on both sides of us were very noisy. One evening we had to have the Campground Host talk to one of our neighbors because they were playing very loud music on a radio during quiet hours. The campground itself also needs some attention. The roads within the campground have lots of potholes and in some areas is completely gone, signage is lacking and the bathrooms could use some better cleaning. We don't intend to camp at this campground again. But the hiking and landscapes at Joshua Tree are lovely.

Easily accessible location with internet signal. Not as beautiful as Jumbo Rocks, but much less crowded.

Pleasant campsite nestled in the Joshua trees. Roads are a bit in need of repair but bathrooms are adequate. Kind of off the beaten path, though, and close to civilization.

As others have mentioned, campsites are a bit close to each other, but luckily we had quiet neighbors. Our campsite (79) was easy to get to and a very close walk to the restrooms. We didn't stay our full planned stay due to a freeze warning and some strong winds. Even with light winds the following day, it made it a little difficult to cook ,so plan accordingly and make sure to bring extra layers so you're cozy at night. Campground is a short drive from a Walmart which was good for picking up groceries. We didn't get a chance to hike the trails off of this campground, but explored the National Park and it was gorgeous. I plan to visit when it's a bit warmer and bike through the park.

(10/29/2020) Although the park looked full on the books It was surprisingly quiet. The trails were not full and those you met were accommodating with a mask if someone looked uncomfortable. Our days ended with talks of what we saw on the trails and open fire bbq, not caring what the world was up to. Were definitely going back....the peace, scenery and clean sites puts this spot over Jumbo Rocks (sorry guys) any day, hands down!
