Great campground, away from the crowds but near good scenery. Try to get a campground on the outer perimeter but either way its a nice site

We spent one night at Blackrock campground and loved the view from our site, especially at sunrise. The location of the campground was close to amenities in Joshua Tree, but further from the park, which ended up dissuading us from going back into the park after setting up camp.

We had an awesome stay at Black Rock. The campground was only about 30% occupied and pretty chill. Our favorite hike in Joshua Tree was to Warren Peak, right in BR’s backyard. We had amazing sunsets and sunrises to enjoy, owls and coyotes were chatty through through the night, and the staff at the nature center were friendly and helpful. The bathroom facilities could use a bit of an update. All in all, we had a great experience!

Located in a unique ecosystem of the park for those interested in flora and fauna. Hosts active during 2-4pm when a large transition happens between outgoing and incoming campers. Recommend sites on outer loops as inner loops end up being close together due to lack of choice in even ground for tent campers. Outer loops also are closer to the natural spaces. Bathrooms have downward-facing exterior lights that reduce light pollution as well as distraction to nearby campsites.

Easy to find location, great car-camp spots, gorgeous park!It was just a little difficult to find the camp host, but that didn't end up being a problem. I hope to visit again!

This campsite was wonderful! It felt secluded even though the campground was rather large. The only issue we had was how far it was from the main part of the park, but it was also kind of nice to be farther away from all the people on such a busy weekend.

Woke up to Joshua Trees and a beautiful view! Good/OK cellular signal not available in other parts of the park. Great base camp.

The campgrounds were beautiful! Lovely views of the unique Joshua trees and desert surrounding the site. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper. There were plenty of trash cans, recycling bins and potable water pumps around the site. I have Verizon and cell service was low but usable in an emergency!

Great location since it was close by stores so we did not have to worry about stuff that we might have forgotten. It was also a quiet location and great spot for stargazing. Great amenities in the campground and the bathrooms were very clean. The only thing that was missing is a sink/sink room where we could have gotten rid of compost waste and wash our dishes.

Good sized campsites, easy to find and probably the only place in Joshua Tree that has cell reception because it’s detached from the rest of the park.

Enough space between campgrounds and clean bathrooms! This campground is on the edge of the park but still a beautiful space to star gaze and relax.
