Orientation at checking was very professional. Bathrooms were clean and water tasted good. Table, fire pit, and charcoal grill were in great shape. Beautiful Joshua Trees in campsite.

A lot of space within the site and great space in between campsites. Already has a grill and pit for campfire.

Site was large and pretty level. Close enough to bathrooms and was great to walk the pup around. Great spot to set up to see both the sunset and sunrise.

We were in a camper van and our site 38 was severely out of level in two directions. There was no way to get level using our blocks.

The campground needs a lot of work. I know they just had a lot of rain but it needed work before that. The sites are not even close to level and some of the roads are undriveable.

Roads need repair, more bathrooms, better and increased day and backpack parking

Enjoyed my stay at Black Rock. Flush toilets and running water were appreciated! Area hiking is great! Particularly enjoyed waking to see bird activity.

Joshua Tree National Park was beautiful. We almost passed it up because it was a little out of the way on our trip but we are so glad we didn't. We almost wished we had stayed in one of the other Park rv campgrounds to be closer to the main parts of the park but Black Rock is a nice campground.

The campsite was spacious. The map of the campsite outlined at the camp grounds very well. The rest rooms were clean too. Thank you!

After the initial problems i had trying to park my rv in site 63 (they build a big burm to divert water when it rained that was so abrupt my stabilizing jacks would not clear without damage) I was able to book site 38 and finish my visit.
The park driving surface was in very rough shape, the restrooms where very clean.
I hope that I can get a credit for site 63 as i was charged full price for the second site

Absolutely loved Black Rock campsite! Clean bathrooms, waste and recycling bins throughout the entire campsite and the rangers I spoke with were so charming and helpful! The campsite is a Joshua tree haven! Filled with joshua trees of every size! Good horse camp here as well. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back! Thank you.

Campground is clean and well-maintained but road surface in some loops is pot-holed. Sites are fairly large but the nature of a Joshua Tree grove doesn’t give one much privacy.

I figured it was going to be windy, but the wind was intense. First, our campsite was at more of a hill and not flat, so when we were sleeping it felt like we were going to lean out of the air mattress. Second, the wind got so intense, it scared my daughter and we could not sleep until like 4am. I had to wake multiple times (around 12am, 2am) to check the tie downs and I ended up throwing all our supplies in the car so it would not be blown away. We ended up getting up around 7am or so and I told my wife this was miserable, let's just go home, so she agreed. While we were packing everything up, the wind was so bad it was hard to pack up the tent. Not to mention while packing up, since there was no weight in the tent the wind actually ended up picking up the tent and almost blew away. It ended up ripping the top of the tent and that was just frustrating. I will not return to this campsite. I recommend continuously checking the weather before going.

Nice campground with access to many great hiking trails and close to town.

The campsites were well kept, although the road could do with some new paving.

The campground is beautiful and lets you camp under the stars and under some Joshua trees. The soil is nice and firm to allow for proper staking, and the sites have a bench and a fire pit with a grill. Around the grounds, there are water spigots, dumpsters, and bathrooms relatively close by.

The bathrooms are among the best I've been to in a campground. They have flush toilets, sinks with running water to wash your hands, and soap! Soap is the thing I never see at other campground bathrooms. The stalls were also well stocked with toilet paper.

One thing to note if you're planning on staying here while exploring the Joshua Tree National Park is that this campground is NOT inside the national park. You have to leave your campground, drive through a residential area, and then enter the park through the north entrance. All in all, depending on how packed the entrance to the NP is, it'll be anywhere from a 30-45 minute drive to and from the NP. Not the end of the world, but you just need to be aware when making plans.

If anyone in your group is a first time camper, this is definitely a good spot to come to due to the nice facilities and relative closeness to Yucca Valley in case you need to buy something.

I wouldn't object to staying here again if my wife and I come back out to JTNP.
