Nice trail from campground. Close to town and about a 25 minute drive to the west entrance.

This campsite is practically at the edge of town and thus has water. However, this may also attract 'party-campers', with loud music and conversations deep into the night. Campsites are large, but in some of the sites a flat area for even a small tent is difficult to find. Great day loop hikes directly out of the campsite.

Great facility, a bit hard to navigate finding the campsite in the dark, but overall, really good experience and conveniently located!

The campground itself was great. I chose it because it did have facilities which were clean and easy to access from the campsite. Unfortunately, the timing for my visit wasn't great and yeah I know, it's the desert, but there was a heat advisory making it a bit warmer than expected. It did seem like most sites around did have some shade which did require moving my chair every 15-20 minutes. Better than no shade at all.
This is a great location to camp if you want be at the park without really being in it. It is close to town to grab supplies and have a great time if you have a larger group. I was camping alone so it was a good place for some quiet time. If you want to see more of the park I would suggest a campsite within the park, but you can still easily make day trips from this one.

Nice campground with lots of spaces. Bathrooms were clean. We had some very loud, roudy neighbors.

This was a great campsite. Lot's of hiking trails adjacent to the campsite, and Joshua trees within arms reach of our site. The bathrooms were way better than I expected: Full flush toilets, super clean, sinks with soap. Couldn't ask for more on a camping trip. Sites on the edge of the property had nice views.

Restrooms are great, hiking nearby too. Star gazing is beautiful here, and can use campfire. About 35-40 minutes away from Joshua Tree national park

Campground itself is in fairly good condition. Paved roads have a lot of potholes so low clearness vehicles should take their time. Bathrooms were clean. Neighbors were terrible. Partied till 2am and then at 5am another set of neighbors started packing up with no regards for how loud they were being. If you are looking for a campground to have a good time this is it. If you are looking for a campground to get away from urban life and get into nature this is not it. Although I have heard better experiences for camping during weekdays. Also LOTS of coyotes. Make sure you back everything up before going to sleep.

Loved it. Such a beautiful, alien place, convenient to town. This is a mixed tent/RV campground with flush toilets. And the rangers at the entrance were so helpful- where to go, what to see, best places to walk my dog, etc. Nice to have clean restrooms too!

Drive into the park is 20-25 minutes away but there are some trails connected to this camp ground. The sites were a bit close together for my liking but that's par for the course out here. Cell phone service was good; I used my booster to help get enough bars to work using internet. Overall clean, well kept.

This was my 3rd visit in one month. That says it all! Love this campsite! Beautiful grounds, many trash and recycling bins throughout, clean bathrooms. Friendly park rangers as well! Great place for families or solo campers! Must also visit Pioneer Town nearby.

Overall it was great. I liked that there was a nature center with maps and info about the park. The bathrooms were really nice- flush toilets, sinks with countertops, and incredibly clean! No large spiderwebs or flies buzzing around. And, there is cellphone reception so that was handy. The downsides were our site (26) was on a hill so we were sliding downhill in our tent. We were hoping for no light pollution but our neighbors all had their lanterns on. That's not the fault of the campground, but know that your neighbors are really close by! It would have been better to go into the park to see the stars but I was with my kid and once it was dusk it got really windy and cold.

Camp grounds were a little close together making it loud at times but overall a nice stay
