Loved this campground. You're literally camped WITHIN the Joshua Trees which is great. There are also flush toilets and easy access to trails. Also really enjoyed the fact that there is water access and dump station. I went in January after it snowed which made the landscape that much more beautiful. Highly recommend.

Great campground. It was very quiet when we were there in late Sept, but it beautiful and so lovely to sit around and view the hills around. Mike the host was great. Shame no showers but toilets were good. Its a bit of a drive to JT park, about 30 mins, but it worked well for us. Also some nice trails near by.

The day was hot hot hot and the night was so cool. We came for the desert night sky and we were not disappointed. The stars where amazing and we couldn't be more happy with our experience.

Was in site #25 for one night with a Class C and 5-person tent. No problem fitting everyone in. Chose this site because it was off to the side and at the end of a row. It was also fairly close to the restroom and dumpsters which was nice. Took our daughter and several of her classmates overnight to celebrate their college graduation

I wish the campground was located closer to the entrance of the park, Having never been there before I thought it was basically right outside the gate, but that was my mistake. Staff was extremely nice and helpful, the campground itself is beautiful, with lots of Joshua Trees through out.

The night sky was beautiful and we had a full moon. The restrooms were very clean and flush toilets.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time there, but if you don't like the heat you'll probably struggle, at least in mid-July. Also, if you are alergic to bees be careful, as there is very little water and the bees are attracted to any sources, including your sweat.Aside from that it's a beautiful, desert campsite with clean flushing toilets and potable water. There was no camp host when we were there, and the regsitration office was closed. But you're close to the town of Yucca Valley so it's easy to get groceries, ect. It's a low light area at night so you can really see the stars. You're also very close to Joshua Tree National Park, with a lot of walks you can do, and we also visted the Joshua Tree distillery which I would recommend.

Black rock Campground is as perfect an experience as you can get, for dry camping near Joshua Tree National Park. Sites are large, parking is easy, and campers are quiet and respectful. Restroms are clean and the visitor center has great info on the natural beauties of Joshua Tree. RV'ers will have access to fill and dump their water supply and most sites have fire rings and tables. After a recent rainy season there was an abbundance of dessert blooms just starting to dry out and planting was green. Trails are close and there are levels of hiking there. I personally enjoyed the native ground squirels (very freindly) and lots of quail on site. I was even visited by a local Desert Tortoise that curiously inspected my campsite. If you venture into joshua tree or nearby Yucca Valley, check out some of the smaller hoe in the wall places to eat and drink owned locally. The experiences and conversations are wonderful.

Great campground! Cell service available (texting spotty, but phone calls were fine), clean bathrooms with running water, easy access to trails near by, and tons of Joshua Trees!

Site 25 has a great placement in the campground. Close to the restroom, backs up to open land, and easy to park a trailer or RV.
Area was SO windy (February) our tent blew around for 2 days! The grounds were very clean and very well kept! Bathrooms were tended daily, always had TP and clean. Thank You!
Beautiful location among the Joshua trees with easy access to hiking trails.
