The campsite itself is great. It has a clean bathroom and a water pump outside the bathroom. It was out of place for my purposes of visit - to take photos of the milkyway and to boulder. I will stay at Hidden Valley so I can cut down the drive to a darker spot in the future.

Lovely campground. Fortunately we had a camp site on the edge of the Western side, not in a slightly comngested section. Unfortunately, the wind gusts this 35 knots and "enhanced" a cold night even more on this edge. The stars are amazing if you can drag yorself our of a sleeping bag on a very cold night, but well worth it. The crazy rains and have the interior road ver rough but I still was able to navigate in my small car (during the sunlight) around the but ruts. Overall, a very nice location a few miles from the entrance to JT.

Blackrock was a great campsite. Lots of Joshua trees but I preferred Cottonwood. A little less busy and a better variety of desert plants and landscape. Either way it's a beautiful park!

Arrival and check-in was super simple. My site had a nice flat area for my tent, a picnic table, and fire pit. Bathrooms were super clean and water was easy to fetch. Wifi was available at the check-in area. I only wish the park sold firewood to save me a trip to town.

We loved our stay at Black Rock Campground! It's a little closer to civilization than Cottonwood, Joshua Tree's other campground with amenities like running water and flush toilets, but still really beautiful (and tons of Joshua trees!). More RVers but it's great for car camping. Plus, you're very close to shops and restaurants in Yucca Valley if the need strikes. We did the shortest hike leaving from Black Rock, the High View Trail (less than 2 miles) and it was lovely.

I got the last campsite for a Thursday night. The route to the site was a little confusing, but once I found it boy was it a fantastic site. #23. Enough shade for the late afternoon. Pleasantly surprised that such a large campground was eerily quiet. It was close to the hiking trails that I could take a sunset hike to Hi-View before dinner. Water and Bathrooms were close by. Full flushing toilets. Very well maintained and clean.

Great campground, away from crowds. Bathrooms were clean.

I wish I had planned a longer time there (in the camp and the park in general). There are many many things I did not get a chance to experience. My bad. Black Rock was very well run.

Great clean site with water and clean bathroom. However for nightly sky, it is still too close to the city. It needs to go to other inner east camp site to see nighty stars.

Amazing campsite, well-spaced sites and beautiful views. When I arrived (noon ish on a weekday) the office appeared closed and there was nowhere to check in, so I didn't find out I was supposed to check in until the end of my stay. Apart from that, well worth the visit! Nice bathrooms too.

Installation of soap dispensers in the bathrooms was very helpful.
