The campground is well maintained and well laid out. We stayed in the off-season, so it wasnt very full and there wasnt any staff onsite. Unfortunately, this meant that some campers felt that it was ok to not be considerate of others and not follow the rules about quiet hours and generator use. We had noisy campers way past midnight and again from 5am. We even called the non-emergency number to ask for help with campers refusing to turn off their generator when we politely pointed out the generator hours. But there didnt seem to be anything that could be done about it. If you would like to be sure to have a peaceful and quiet camping experience then maybe go elsewhere.

What more could you ask for? A clean campground with freshwater in the middle of Joshua Trees close to a town with supplies and surprisingly good restaurants.

Great location. Sites are very close together. Roads are so bad you could break an axle. It has a dump station, which is a plus because Indian Cove does not. I prefer Indian Cove over Black Rock.

Facilities are much cleaner than state parks! Very happy with my stay.

The only negative is that we could not get a live body over the phone for information; only hit an answering message and the message we left was not answered promptly. 2 days later! We were back home then.

We were able to get a same-day reservation, so we were grateful to have a spot. Sites here are clean and have what you need but very close together.

Nice campsite, but access very poor on Apache trail. Off road for approx 5 miles - with no warning. Also, issues with others in campground not obeying the quiet hours. Generators being used late at night and lots of campers up drinking alcohol and making noise until. Campground host no good at enforcing rules. Had to politely ask guests to turn of generators late at night. This led to confrontational, drunk guests causing trouble and looking for conflict. No intervention from host. This made for a very hostile environment and we had to leave in the night due to being threatened and feeling unsafe.

This place was great, easy to find, well maintained, spotless restrooms, great trails connected directly to the campground, and nice quiet neighbors.

Well-equipped, close to trails, and great starting point to hike in Joshua Tree.

The landscape is unique and beautiful, but the campground is a bit noisy, not much vegetation separating the campsites so that you hear every conversation of your neighbors. At least two RVs ran generators after 10pm. The park allows RVs next to sites with tents. It would be a better experience if these huge vehicles had their own campground, or were fined for running generators after 10pm.

It got surprisingly cold the first night. It didn't get too windy this time, but that did happen the last time I camped there. The starry night was absolutely amazing as was the full moon that rose over the hills later! Most sites don't have a lot of shade, so keep that in mind if you plan on staying there when once it gets hot.

fire pit was different from those at the sites near us, was not circular and not great for windy nights like ours

Great campsite for beginners who enjoy flush toilet, close proximity to others and internet access. Definitely the closest thing to glamping at JTNP.

Camp sites were large, clean and spread out.
