The front desk was very welcoming. They had a star observation event that was awesome!!!

Great campground! You can tell the camp host and rangers try really hard to keep up with the amout of people that circulate through here.

Its fine if you need a spot for a day or two. We didnt love how close together and non private the sites were. People were walking through our site to get to the bathroom. It wasnt noisy though and there are some really cool hikes right out of the campground, without going to the park. Id recommend scoping out a site before booking a bad one if youre in a pinch and need to camp here.

The campers around me cursed...ALOT. Cursing seemed to be a regular part of their conversations, so I shortened my reservation. I'm not interested in paying to camp and listen to cursing. Also, one of the campers did not tether either of their dogs; they (the dogs) were allowed to roam freely into other campsites. The camp host was non-existent.

turns out that it was very much windy! spent a while to set up the tent. Also under estimated how cold it would be at midnight. Even with 10 degree sleep bag (which pretty much 20 degree below what was expected), we still felt cold at night...
other than that, it was very fun in the park and camping! There were so many hiking routes, especially around the jumbo rock area, which was very attractive to explore. You can easily get off the designated trails. We were somewhat lost for about 20 min after returning from the ghost face scene, as following a water bed. We asked around, and some of people had no ideas where they were either. After we figured it out there was a main road nearby, we found the way out. So highly recommend to bring compass if you want to explore into the wild, and water even in winter!

Awesome! Camping within the Joshua trees was surreal. Bring your own firewood and have a nice fire as you watch the stars.

Love this spot. It was a bit further from the park than we expected, but it's gorgeous and the night sky is beautiful.

Loved that there were lots of Joshua trees. Campsites are big. Bathrooms are nice.

Nice campground in the heart of Joshua Tree. Several hiking trails right from your site. Clean restrooms, water spouts. Campground roads are in pretty poor condition. Nice campground - would camp here again.
