People who arrive after ten shouldnt be allowed to party until 1am disturbing others. I realize that theres no one there after hours but perhaps signs should be more visible for late arrivals

Decently close to restrooms, campgrounds were clean and nice, and restrooms were clean and nice. Quiet campgrounds and staff were very friendly and informative.

I liked the Nature Center at Black Rock Canyon Campground. There was a nice kids' art display. We stayed the previous night at Indian Cove, which we liked a lot better, much more picturesque. Black Rock has flush toilets and sinks, which were nicer than the vault toilets at Indian Cove. And we did see a road runner at Black Rock. But there were quite a number of people who came in late and left very early. And it was rather windy all night. It wasn't bad, we just preferred Indian Cove.

Just make sure to figure out where your site is before arriving or download a campground map. Signage is a bit lacking, and its easy to get lost among all the different loops.

There is no campground host. People had bright lights hanging in their campsite. Kids running around at 11p and blowing up mattresses at 11p. The bathrooms were out of toilet paper and soap. Theres no hand dryers or paper towels. The roads were in bad shape. My actual campsite was great. Love the park!

Great spot. Love that there was service and multiple bathrooms within walking distance. Great views, well kept area, and beautiful star gazing site.

Nice quiet place, sites are roomy, facilities clean and well-maintained. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. Love the desert colors! The only negative- and not anything that humans can do anything about- is the wind! Epic wind and dust. I honestly thought the trailer was going to blow over during the night.

We arrived in the midafternoon on 12/29 and there was a disinterested/vaguely hostile person at the headquarters who told us to go to our site if we knew where it was and handed us a map. They were passionate about telling us not to touch the trees (understandably) but that was about it and they seemed especially disdainful about our children's ability to follow that rule (despite the fact that they were being still and quiet next to us at the time). I fear that that experience of feeling unwelcome soured our perception for the rest of the stay. They thoughtfully warn about the rutted, rough roads into the campground in the listing. It's accurate - be ready for a bumpy ride. The restrooms were basic and cramped but sufficient. (Just toilets and sinks; I don't believe there are showers anywhere?) The water spigots are over cement slabs (not grates or gravel) so we decided we should dump our dishwater at the RV dump station, although we weren't given any info. I certainly wasn't going to go back to the headquarters to ask additional questions. We were there in late December so I assume our lackluster experience was due to being in the off-season but it was rather off-putting. There were lovely volunteers out each morning picking up trash who were very friendly. And the beauty of Joshua Tree can't be beat!

It was wonderful being in this campground, I enjoyed it. One thing, there were few, if any, signs that I saw to guide me to my campsite. I came in after dark, but did eventually find it, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Both beautiful and rustic!

I was surprised how poorly maintained the entire campground was-lights out in the bathroom, terrible potholes and uneven roads, no ranger securing or looking over the grounds. People-vagrants getting free night camping coming in after dark and leaving before dawn-as a single woman I found it quite disturbing. This happened every night I was there. The good thing was the trails surrounding the campground. Park service-please address these issues.

Great location with easy access to Black Rock Canyon trails, which are some of the best ones in the park.

Clean bathrooms with flushing toilets. Spaced out sites with a fair amount of shade for the desert. Got windy at night but really enjoyed being nestled in with the Joshua Trees.

Stayed one night tent camping. Bathroom facilities were clean and it was great to have running water sinks and flushable toilets. It was nice that it was so close to the town of Joshua tree. If you want to camp near Joshua tree but don’t want to rough it, stay here. Site is 20 min away from park entrance.

I love this campground and the super accessible beautiful hikes. lovely. Easy access into a fun and interesting town as well. But I found a few of the people at the sites self centered. They listened to music, as if we wanted to hear what they were playing; they started their generators super early in the quiet morning; they talked loudly late into the night. So not as peaceful as it would be if everyone thought about their actions...
