This campground is fantastic! There are flush toilets and running water. The sites give decent privacy and even when it was full it didn't feel crowded. Having the nature center and hiking trails right nearby was for sure a plus.

We loved that the sites were far enough apart to afford privacy but yet we had modern bathrooms

Easy to reach, not so overbooked, access to the lesser known areas of the park which are equally nice and still the main park is reached in about 30 minutes. It was quiet and relaxed while the central park looked very busy to me.

The camp roads are in terrible shape with the site we were assigned to be in just as bad of shape. We stopped at the ranger station after a very rough ride up to it and the ranger was very helpful. He said that they were due to have roads replaced in 2025.

If there is any form of wind occurring during your stay you will not be able to sleep. It was so cold due to the combo of the wind and temperatures that most of the campsites packed up and left around midnight. I moved into my car and thank god I did because it ended up snowing. Great place and campsite but be warned that the temperatures could result in a not so fun time.

Nice and peaceful. Quiet area. Lots of nice sunrises and sunsets. Close to the city in cases and essentials are forgotten but feels like your far away when your there at BlackRock Campground. We checked in after the office was closed and they made it easy to find our reservation posted on the door with maps and regulations near by. Map was easy to read as well. We had a great time and will be back!

The weather was a problem with wind. Camp sites are nice and location also nice. Apparently, according to the camphost, my tent was out of boundary. Tent needed to be 25f from table, which it was. I don't know if they use a tape meausure. I had site # 96 which is not flat so needed to find a nice flat spot which I did. Another alternative which would have been approved, at least same distance from table, looked more like a parking place for a car and thus, not very nice.

I'm sure it would have been better but due to the fact that it was our first time camping and it was the coldest night of the year we weren't fully prepared. It dropped to the 30s and we had no power and the high winds we had no heat. So we had to pack up and go to hotel. We will b better prepared next time and would love to go back and visit again maybe go hiking.. very clean facilities and very friendly staff

I really enjoyed the Black Rock Campground during my stay. The bathrooms were well-maintained, the setting is gorgeous and my neighbors were pretty spread out from one another. Unfortunately, I needed to cut my trip a day short due to extremely high winds, but I made the most of it and got up early for a sunrise hike before I took off. There are lots of amazing trails connecting to the campground, so I got to explore a ton before my departure, so I was grateful for that.

The campsite is clean and the scenery beautiful. Hikes that accommodate different levels surround the area. You can hear coyotes call and watch the stars from the peaceful terrain. It is not far out of civilization, if you are looking for a remote experience, some of the other Joshua Tree campgrounds are deeper in the park. Easy access to bathrooms, water is dispersed throughout the grounds.

Not at the center of the park but I kind of liked it for that reason. Quiet (in early spring) and there was a nice hike that wasn’t too crowded nearby. Great amenities, really clean.
