A very nice campground. Flat, clean campsites. Quiet at all hours. Great hiking right from the campground. Good proximity to town. Beautiful dark night skies. Strong cell signal.

Last minute, one night stayover. This was the only Joshua Tree campground that could accept my 24' motorhome, so I took it.Full house on site, but very quiet with lots of family groups enjoying the site. Arrived after office closed but stopped by in AM to make sure they did not need to check my res. Delightful staff in house. All good.

Joshua Tree is such a special place. However the BlackRock campground is shabby. Many campsites are very unlevel or have wash outs. Most of the pavement in the campground is in terrible condition. There's also no gate or other barrier to entry so anyone could come through the campground at any time. I hope to come back to Joshua Tree but I am not likely to return to BlackRock.

Black Rock is a fantastic park. Scenery is amazing, wild life was a treat (serenade by owls, wild hares running about, plants were all in bloom. Camp site was spacious. The only drawback was we didnt plan our stay long enough to really explore Joshua Tree National Park. We will be back.

Good campsite. Clean bathrooms, flushing toilets. Not too far from Joshua tree entrance. Will stay again. Family had a great time.

The camp ground very peaceful and our specific site #68 fit our 28 trailer (bumper to hitch) and F-250 with no problem. Check out the Hi-View trail. Our one regret is that we didnt plan for the sunset and had to get back to camp to prepare our meal. I guess it depends on time of year and how hangry you get.

Sites are not level and large tent camping groups are allowed.

It sure would be nice to invest money in fixing the campground roads and sites. I looks like the asphalt has only been patched for many many years. The roads were so rough I did not like pulling my trailer in the campground. I would not recommend this campground to anyone. The clean water hose at the dump station has such poor pressure it was not very effective when I drained my black water.

Beautiful campground but sites are close together

This is a corny dilapidated campground located outside the national park. Site was pretty unlevel and had a Joshua tree with a huge broken limb blocking some of the entrance. I think the dispersed camping areas around the national park are better.

Rustic. Was able to have a camp fire. Bit windy but nice as thats nature. Easy in easy out. Was unable to find trash cans until our way out. Well be back again if were in the area.

Great camp site. A lot of space for our kids to run and play.

Surprisingly close to residential area and not the darkest sky if wanting to view the night sky. While there are no showers, there are places in nearby town you can pay to shower, e.g. gyms. Flush toilets are always nice. The Panorama Trail Loop that starts in the campground is super nice and hikers are rewarded with views of San Gorgonio Peak, Palm Springs, and the Salton Sea. We saw one coyote come through the camp early in the morning, and saw a black hooded oriole.

Great campground. Could benefit from having the roads repaved.

It was very windy so we never had a campfire. The sites were large and pretty easy to back the camper into. Bathrooms were clean.

Peaceful, clean restrooms , water, nice size spots, good sunset & sunrise views from the top of the camping area - close to Joshua tree, a cute little town.

No one to check us in. Our neighbors were really loud really late. Had them ask us id we could sell them water because they weren’t prepared for how hot it was going to be. We thought that we a bit odd. We didn’t feel that safe. I’d like if there were rangers to quiet them down

Set among a Joshua tree forest, this is a beautiful campground. Our sites were large and very roomy. The bathrooms were very clean and some were new. There are water faucets throughout the campground and a dump station nearby. Great views and several hiking trails right out of the campground.
