We stayed in site 57. Overall a nice campground with many sites nestled under the stands of Joshua trees. Be aware that the center sites (at least in vicinity of 57) are mostly open with no definition between sites. Great if your group wants multiple sites with communal area for the kids to run around, not so much of you are hoping for privacy.

Great campsite, spacious, but it is very close to the town of Yucca Valley (can see the city lights at night). This could be great for convenience to stores and restaurants but not as great for solitude in wilderness. Flush toilets were generally very clean.

Great camping spot with friendly rangers to be of assistance!

This was our first time in the park, so we were unfamiliar with the layout of the campground. Site 57 was nestled in the middle and we had some neighbors on the loud side, but eventually everyone calmed down. There was a cluster of downed Joshua Trees so that helped to block some wind. We arrived after dark so finding the bathroom took some time. We were tenting, so we appreciated the picnic table.

Campsite restroom is clean and it’s good distance to Joshua NP. Will come back again.

Not great! Camp sights too close together and fellow campers inconsiderate of others. Bathrooms only moderately acceptable. After I left Black Rock I traveled to Anza Borrego State Park where I experienced a entirety enjoyable stay. The campground was clean and well maintained as were the bathrooms and showers. The difference between the two was like night and day!

The campground itself was quite nice. While there is not much physical separation between sites you are surrounded by Joshua Trees and other scrub brush. Everything was clean and functioning.

Great spot. If full I imagine it could be a bit loud with big groups staying up late.

Great shade from you guessed it - Joshua Trees.
