Roads are trashed, no signage to display where your site is. If plan on arriving after dark, I suggest you take a screenshot of the campground map beforehand so you can follow that to your site. Otherwise you will be driving throughout the campsite looking for your spot. Our site did not have a single flat spot so we were sliding while sleeping the whole night. Facilities were nice though.

It is a peaceful place with some great vibes like the area. The rangers were all nice and helpful. My only issue is it is very hard to get a flat camp site. And even with risers, it is never really flat. Can't beat the senior price though.

Fantastic campsite, filled with Joshua Trees and close to some incredible hiking trails. Bathrooms have running water and there is drinkable water throughout the campsite. Can get quite cold at night, since this is at a higher elevation, so plan accordingly. The campground is technically on Joshua Tree National Park but is outside of the park gate. Overall, I recommend this site and would definitely come back!

Beautiful campground just outside of Joshua Tree NP entrance. Clean facilities, nice trails and sites with great views of the valley.

Love this campsite! Beautiful grounds with many different sized Joshua trees, some very big and picturesque! Clean bathrooms and many trash and recycling bins for our convenience. A nature center near the entrance as well with friendly staff.
Nearby, Pioneer Town is a must see as well. Many western films were filmed there and it’s a great place to go spend a quick half hour and fun spot for pictures.
I highly recommend Black Rock campsite!
