Camp Host was so friendly! Camping site was great. We only stayed one night but would absolutely come back again. Bring your own hand soap. Bathrooms were pretty clean considering we were camping.

Amenities were available. Had just enough space between campsites to not be too crowded. Felt very safe.

Park Ranger was there and gave us a ticket even though we where following directions. This was for having to many tents on the camp site even though there was less than 6 people per site, as required on the reservation. Park camp host did not check park thoroughly and lots of loud music playing through out the park till 230 am in the morning so not much sleep was obtained.

Epic campground! Fun to explore the surrounds. Generally fun people camping in the area. Encountered a couple rangers, also very friendly

The campsite location was as expected. Each location has their own picnic table and fire pit. There is potable water in multiple locations. The restrooms are clean and well kept. Our speficic site (052) was not flat, we struggled to find a location flat enough for our 6 person tent but was a good size. The roads inside the campground were in poor shape. The campsite is close to the end of the park so you still have cellular service. You cannot access the main areas of the park from this campsite.

This is a great campground with close proximity to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. It is well-maintained with lots of Joshua Trees. The roads are not great, so cars with low clearance are not ideal!

Unfortunately, our boy scout troop had an unpleasant encounter with the park ranger, which tainted a lot of the positives they had camping in Joshua Tree. Specifically, regarding this Recreation.gov site: it doesn't post all the rules of the campgrounds. There's a line somewhere on your reservation sheet that says you should always check the campground for rules, but since there's more than a page of rules spelled out, we assumed the rules were all there. For capacity, it said 6 people and 2 vehicles - which we complied with. But when we got to the campground and set up, we had 6 or seven tents (many campers were tenting single) and the ranger was incensed that we weren't following the 3 tent limit rule - which we didn't know about. Not only was he really mean and nasty, even though we immediately said we'd change tents and put more people in each one, but we got a $130 citation. Mind you, this was at 9:30 PM with 15 scouts under the age of 15, after we'd only arrived 1-1/2 hours earlier, set up in the dark, and were ready for bed. Reserver beware! Check the actual campground for the rules - don't rely on what you receive from Recreation.gov!

The bathrooms, which have flush toilets but no showers, were quite clean. Potable water is available at multiple locations. There is a fire pit and picnic table at each camp site. The roads within the campground are not well maintained, but are not a problem if one drives slowly.
The campground has some trails nearby, but the bulk of the must-sees of the park are on the loop road between the entrances of Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will likely come back.

This campsite is really good. Just one drawback they didn’t mention any notice or anything that 72 and 74 campsites are the most viewing sites for rattlesnake. We had to book motel as some of the friends were scared. Whole night and day rattlesnake was there.

Most campsites are too close together. You can't help but overhear conversations happening in surrounding campsites. One of the time periods allowed for generator usage is 5pm to 7pm which also adds to the noise. I'd only use this location as a last resort.
