This is a great campground with plenty of sites, water, and bathrooms, and it's very conveniently located and easy to navigate :) Cool to be among the Joshua Trees

There isnt a lot of vegetation and so sites are not very private. Many sites were on a slope and it was hard to find a flat spot for our tent. Noise level was very high and sites are close together, so be prepared for some sleep disruption. I appreciated the flush toilets, drinking water, and nature center/store onsite. Hiking trails from the campground are excellent. Good cellphone coverage too.

Nice location, unfortunately some groups stayed up all night (playing guitar with bad singing and driving around) to watch the sun rise so we got very little sleep despite multiple campers asking them to keep it down. There were no staff to help implement the 11pm quiet time.

I always enjoy Black Rock C.G. Its great location and selection of hiking trials always make my trip perfect. The wind will usually arrive in the afternoon and on the peaks while hiking. This weekend, although dipping into the high 30's at night, was perfect on the amount of wind.

The campsites were very close to one another. Hardly any privacy since there's hardly any trees or plants to divide the campsites. The restrooms however, were very well maintained and clean.

Nice location. The roads within the campground are a bit rough but OK for cars. There was a talkative group a few spaces away and I they finally went to bed at 1 AM. It would be nice to have a host to enforce quiet hours. The spaces are small and fairly close together, fortunately it was not crowded when I was there or it would have been less pleasant. Don't think I'd stay there again.

Great park campground! We really enjoyed High View nature trail that is close to the campground. The campground roads are a little rough (my husband thought it added to the charm of the park) but overall a great campground that we will return to.

Fantastic campsite, all the amenities we needed at a reasonable distance away. Visitor center employees were also friendly and helpful. The hydration station inside of the visitor center was a pleasant surprise too. The only critique I'd make is that I wish some of the roads weren't so chewed up. But our car had no issue managing at a slow pace. Can't wait to come back!

Very clean, beautiful setting, close enough to town for grocery shopping. Since there are only a few trees, there isnt much privacy. But otherwise, I love the campground enough to have stayed there for several days two years in a row.

Despite the official description of my site (#44) -- "erosion" etc. -- I enjoyed this site very much! There was enough level ground for my tent, with the added bonus of 3 blooming Joshua trees that provided some privacy and shade in the afternoon. My only complaint about this campground is that the water spigots are difficult to find, and the road is just terrible, with lots of deep potholes. But the stars and nighttime valley views can't be beat. I was there in mid-March, and the temps were perfect: Not too warm for hiking in the daytime, and comfortably cool at night.

Pretty campground, but very busy. There was traffic coming and going throughout the night. Quiet hours we respected unless it came to vehicle traffic, which drove through the grounds the entire night. Other campers were packing up at leaving at 3 & 4 am.

Very well kept campground. The volunteer attendants were exceptional - they were extremely friendly, consistently picked up litter when it was found, addressed campground infractions in a friendly way, and went out of their way to help make our stay a bit longer. Restroom facilities (men's) were also some of the cleanest of any park I've been to. I try to avoid paying for campsites when possible, but for a paid campground, this was what I would expect from them all.

Good bathrooms with hot running water, even in the winter. Roads were clean and free of snow.

Great location, no trouble getting a site without booking and plenty to see. Appreciated rangers' talks.Toilets are rather tired and not clear which ones were open.and please automate you credit card payment--it is really confusing to see the debit 3 months later.
