The campground has been heavily used, and it shows. I had a good experience at a very quiet time of year, but be aware if you visit at a busy time.

I had an excellent time. The roads yes had some pot holes but nothing any normal non modified vehicle cant handle. The parking space for the site i selected 041, was a bit unusual. It had a bit of a dip so if you parking facing forward towards the site, be careful on the dip. Otherwise if you park perpendicular to the site, you wont have any issue. The weekend we went, the winds at night were honestly insane. Ive never experienced that much wind anywhere in my life. So check for weather. If you see winds are above 30 mph then just know you are in for a somewhat ridiculous ride. Otherwise, great campsite. bathrooms were no where near as bad as some have reported. They were relatively clean for a campsite. There are onsite trash cans to toss trash in, but there is no where to wash dishes.

Lovely place to camp to get a good view of the west side of Joshua tree which is a bit different than the main park. Excellent hiking straight from the campground and a short drive to the West Entrance to access the main part of the park. Note that the campsites are very close to one another so you will hear other people/their music.

Great campsite. Easy to get to and there are some good trails around. Some of the campsites are very close to each other, so make sure to look at the photos before booking to see if you can get one that's a little more isolated / away from others, but if that doesn't bother you, then there are no complaints. There are a couple different bathroom locations conveniently located. Have camped here a few times and will definitely be returning!
