Blackrock Campsite 32. Good site, plenty of space for two tents, nice proximity to the lavatory (for those who get up to go every AM between 3 and 4!). Slight grade (not exactly level) in spots, but nothing to fret about. My only criticism is the close proximity to neighboring campers. But everybody was decent and respectful during our visit. The Panorama Trail (TH in Blackrock Campground) is a must do. There are other nice hikes out of Blackrock, but we did more exploring in the JTNP proper. At this stage in my life (I'm 72yo), I am ticking off bucket list adventures (I have a few more to go). Otherwise, I would say that JTNP is a repeatable adventure.

Running water. Flush toilets. Friendly staff. Pretty closely packed with other campers, though.

Beautiful campsite, very easy to find and short distance to the bathroom and trash which was nice. Went out on the panorama loop trail which was gorgeous, highly recommend doing that.

The bathrooms were great! Clean and working. The roads to the sites were some of the worst I have experienced in the country.

Close to the restrooms, a water spout, and had access to trash cans, all very helpful!

Nice sites, easy access to water, and good restrooms. The access roads need work, as they are falling apart.

Good campsite, but probably my last pick in the whole park.
Jtree gets WINDY. This isn't my first time camping in the park and I always luck out enough to to find a site that is protected from wind by rocks. There are NO rocks or any protection from the wind of any kind. I could tell this from the pictures and I came prepared, so no complaints here. But be warned the 3rd night it was so windy we got almost no sleep in our tent.
It has clean sites, running water in the bathrooms, easy to find, map on the site made it easy to find our site in the maze of roads late at night.
Also the sites have us all packed in like sardines. Again there are no rocks or anything separating the sites so you will be standing literally 50 feet from your neighbors on all 4 sides with nothing but your vehicles to separate you.
Short drive to town for supplies. Campsite roads are rough, but all stock vehicles can make it in just fine. No vehicle access to the main park from the sites, you have to drive through town, but it's only about 20 minutes. Be aware of the wait to get into the park so try to get there befoe the rush at the gate.
All in all its a good spot, just wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a tent that can tolerate the wind or people looking to spend a lot of time in camp. (I can't emphasis enough how close the sites are)

I stayed at campsite #32 for two nights, would stay again! Easy access to bathroom, potable water, trash/recycling. Also a short walk to the visitor center, which also offers public wifi (at least when I was there in early December). I had good cell reception at my site as well (Google Fi). The boundaries between campsites are not very clear, so be a good neighbor and communicate as to where you might set up your tent. Driveways are not always apparent either -- I overheard one ranger say that campers should park closer to the street to prevent compacting the soil for tents. The soil/sand wasn't too compacted at my site, I was able to get my tent stakes in most of the way. You may hear some coyotes at night but they're not constantly howling/yipping. If you want a good deal on firewood, check out Grocery Outlet Bargain Market on 62 -- each bundle was $5 as of December 2021.

This campground is gorgeous from sun rises to sunsets, its easy to enjoy the beauty of the Joshua Trees from your campsite. The campsite is a 15 minute drive to the actual Joshua Tree National Park. The visitors center at Black Rock is cute and helpful if youre interested in local hikes, no matter the distance. The campsite is extremely clean as are the restrooms. The only downside , personally, is that the sites are so close together. Other than that, I would 100% recommend anyone to stay there.
