I enjoyed it but I never saw a Ranger. I appreciate the job they do but I suspect there are not enough of them. Lets hire park rangers and pay them a reasonable amount. Thanks.

My friends and I had a great time camping at Black Rock Campground. The campground was very clean, and the flush toilets and running water made things easier. There was limited attractions to see from the campground, but I didn't find it too cumbersome to drive to the West and North entrances of the national park. My only complaints are that we were very close to other campsites, and cell service was spottier than other reviews mentioned.

Actually we did not use our reservation. Recreation.gov sent an email that said very high winds were going to be hitting Black Rock Campground. We appreciated the notification and opted for a motel that night. Sending a severe weather warning is an excellent feature of Recreation.gov. Thank you

We have stayed at this campground a few times. Quiet, with great views, and the bathrooms are always clean.

As usual in a National Park campground, and more than ever in Black Rock, you're right on top of your neighbor! The Warren Peak/Warren View hike from Black Rock campground has a decent view of the Coachella Valley. Make sure to see Coachella Valley from Keys View though.

The site was very clean and easy to
Access. The wind was blowing all night pretty strongly so we couldn’t light a fire. It was really really cold but nothing that the camp site could have done. Would definitely go back to this location in the future.

Love the Park. The Joshua Trees and rocks are even more dramatic at night. It was moonless, so we lay out under the stars for a good hour. Great weather. Quiet, peaceful campground with clean bathrooms and water available, campsites clean and adequately roomy. Roads are pretty rutted though. Prompt attention to reservations and on line calendar was clear and helpful.

We loved our camping experience at Black Rock. Since several trail heads are right there, it was easy to take a hike. Make sure you travel beyond the Black Rock campground in Joshua Tree as there is so much variety. The only improvement would be showers on site. The showers in town were closed.

Great spot for tent camping. Ideal location just outside the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The night sky is fantastic! There are some great hiking trails within the campsite to check out when not in JTNP. My only (minor) issue was the state of the roads within the camp. There are a lot of big pot holes that need to be filled in.

A great campground in Joshua Tree National Park. ALthough it is isolated from the rest of the park, the campsites are excellent and there are flush toilets. The campsites are large enough for a decent sized tent and the pichic table is situated well on the site. THere's a campfire ring, as well. THe camp host is friendly and knowledgable. For those with trailers, there's a dump station and the trailer/RV sites seem to be a decent size, as well.

Campground is easy to get to and close to stores if need anything. We had really windy weather, tent broke and slept in car. But we made the most of it. Quick drive into Joshua tree! We will be back.

Beautiful campground area even while individual campsites are fairly close together. Bathrooms are well kept great signage, good balance of being well kept while allowing autonomy and especially making it easy for entry and exit for those one-night campers. Life-changingly amazing wildlife on the trails highly recommend going as far out as you can.

Camp in the beautiful hills of JTNP! This campground offers great stays underneath the Joshua Trees, as well as quick access to the nearby Yucca Valley for those who still want to stay in touch with civilization. Great for those who want to hike the South Park Peak and High View for beautiful sights of the surrounding valley. A short drive from the West Entrance to the park, and an excellent place to stay!

Be prepared for the high winds. Don’t set canopies, the wind broke ours. Make sure you have long steaks for your tent. Bathrooms are close.

The campsites are very close together and its easy to hear other campsite's conversations and visa versa. Overall the restrooms were in great shape, the camp was very clean and the staff was warm & friendly.

Aside from the van in the next spot over who had a loud movie playing inside while they idled their engine late into the night, it was very nice.
